Job Description

Trade Planning Senior Executive is responsible for driving trade promotion planning end-to-end with a strong commercial & data-driven mindset, ensuring promotion mechanics are optimized for sales, margin, traffic, and basket size. This role acts as a hybrid between Merchandising + Marketing + Business Intelligence, supporting category teams to win in the market through effective promotion strategy, governance, and evaluation.

A. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Commercial Analyst is responsible for conducting market research, analyzing commercial data, managing stock, and controlling processes and timing. This role is vital for optimizing business strategies, ensuring efficient inventory management, and supporting decision-making processes.

1. Trade Promotion Planning & Calendar Management (30%):

  • Build & manage promotion / trade calendar by category, ensuring alignment with company priorities, seasonal peaks, and strategic direction.
  • Partner with Category Managers to define category priorities & hero moments (key SKUs / brands / missions) across monthly campaigns.
  • Ensure all campaigns have clear objectives and KPI definition (Sales / GP / ROI / Basket / Traffic proxy)..

2. Forecast, Financial Check & Cross-functional Governance (20%):

  • Work with Finance / Supply / Merchandising to validate:
  • + Forecast uplift (vs BAU, vs LY)
  • + GP$ & GP% impact
  • + Promotion investment & supplier funding
  • Raise early risks (OOS, overstock, margin dilution) and propose mitigation plan.

3. Commercial Performance Analytics, BI Dashboard (30%):

  • Own commercial performance analytics across Department/Category/Brand/SKU including assortment insights (price ladder Entry Premium, hero vs long tail, productivity per SKU/store) to identify growth drivers, gaps & risks (uplift vs BAU/LY, margin mix, promo effectiveness, ROI).
  • Build & maintain BI dashboards / tracking reports (Excel/Power BI) to monitor key KPIs: Sales, GP$, GP%, ROI, mix shift, promo dependency and competitiveness indicators.
  • Lead campaign governance & learning loop: monitor in-flight performance (daily/weekly) to steer actions, conduct post-evaluation (incremental sales/GP, ROI, participation, execution score), and build benchmarking/libraries to optimize future trade cycles.

B. REQUIREMENT:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
  • 35 years experience in Trade Planning / Commercial / BI / Merchandising / Trade Marketing (Retail background is a strong plus).
  • Strong experience in promotion planning & performance tracking.
  • Strong analytical capability: Excel advance; Power BI is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of retail promotion mechanics (discount/GWP/bundle/member).
  • Good project management & stakeholder management: able to work with
  • Structured thinking, detail-oriented, proactive, strong ownership.
