Position Summary
JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for compliance management, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of all data, documents & formalities to be complied with company policy, international trade and local regulations.
MAIN DUTIES
- Serves as subject matter expert and internal consultant on overall licensing and export and import process, regulatory requirements, and evaluation of risk.
- Acts as a point of escalation for any trade compliance-related inquiries or issues and provide timely and effective resolutions.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of all relevant trade compliance laws and regulations, including but not limited to import/export laws, customs regulations, and trade sanctions.
- Monitor and assess changes in trade laws and regulations and communicate any updates to the appropriate team members.
- Work closely with internal departments, such as legal, finance, and operations, to ensure compliance with all trade regulations and laws.
- Manage customs broker and freight forwarder relationships.
- Provides guidance and training to program and export compliance personnel on International & Government regulations and company policy (e.g., parts classifications, HTS codes identification, FTAs, CTPAT).
- Review and approve all international trade transactions to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all trade compliance activities and transactions.
- Coordinate with external parties, such as government agencies and third-party service providers, to ensure compliance with all trade regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify any potential trade compliance risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement trade compliance policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on any changes in the company's global operations and adjust trade compliance strategies accordingly.
- Promote a culture of ethical and legal compliance within the organization.
- Carry out other tasks assigned by department head.
- Adhere Company Safety Rules.
Key Accountabilities
- Interacting with customs agencies to resolve regulatory and transactional questions involving export issues; reports suspected shortfalls in compliance and works on internal investigations as requested.
- Investigating and resolving compliance potential issues and to respond to questions from internal or customer and government regulatory agencies.
- Plans, develops, recommends, and implements training, procedures, and systems to be used for import & export compliance.
Jobholder Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 Years of Experience in Trade Compliance, preferably in the Manufacturing or Aerospace Industry.
- Experience with managing Import/Export processes, including classification, licensing, and customs clearance.
- Strong understanding of International Trade Regulations.
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and Government agencies.
- Knowledge of industry practices, general business operations, and policies.
- Ability to effectively assess and implement continuous improvement principles and techniques.
- Fluent in English (speaking, writing, listening, and reading).
- Proficient with Ms. Office 365 Essentials (Word, Excel, Power Point, Power BI, and Outlook), database management tools.
