Job Summary

A tool designer works in a factory using a variety of methods to conceptualize and construct forms referred to as dies. In this role, you may work with blueprints or on the computer software such as CAD and others to create products and equipment according to customer specifications.

Main Duties and Responsibilities.

  • Design stamping die using CAD/CAM system (Excess Evo, Solid Works/ Unigraphic) based on customer's part specification and schedule with due consideration of quality and cost optimization, ease of fabrication, production output and safety aspect.
  • Proficiency in Auto Cad.
  • Provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) service to customer
  • Anticipate problems and mistakes in the customer's product design.
  • Contribute concepts and ideas in metal stamping aspect in customer's product design
  • Coordinate with tool fabrication department in tool design aspect during tool fabrication and executes a design change if any improvements need to be made to align with the result form tool testing.
  • Able to draw punches and inserts in 3D for 3D machining.
  • Responsible for part, strip layout and tool design, jig and fixture to meet requirement.
  • Coordinate with R&D for simulation study for feasibility studies for complex parts to generate functional design and solutions.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Qualifications.

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Tool Engineering with Post Diploma in Die and Tool Design.
  • Have working experience 3-5 years
  • Know design of stamping tool, Jig and Fixtures
  • Working knowledge in Auto card and other software
  • Have good attitude to work, cooperation to colleague
  • Flexible working hours upon company requirements
  • Using English for work
