About the Role:
Bridge the demand of internal customers(NPD/NPI/PMO/Tooling engineer/Commercial) and external resources (OEM/toolmakers) to ensure tooling fulfilled on time, within agreed budget and expected quality.
Here are some of the EXCITING things you'll get to do:
- Work closely with members from China, North America and Europe office to understand tooling requirements (primarily Stamping, Plastic injection, Die-casting, Rubber etc.,), deliver RFQs to AVL(approved vendor list) toolmakers
- Own the toolmaker management: Identify, develop and maintain relationships with best sources of scope tooling under different categories from domestic and oversea Commercial team
- Routine work including tooling quotation, PO processing, Product Addendum sign off, expedites etc.,
- Work out Tooling Should cost, directly negotiate with toolmakers and ensure tooling cost rationality
- Tooling Spend management by category, toolmaker, classification (New, duplication, modification), figure out approaches for tooling cost improvement and optimized resources allocation
- Deliver weekly/monthly/quarterly report as assigned by superior
- Travel through East/South China (Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong etc.)
What We Expect:
- At least 8 years in Tooling (sourcing, manufacturing or technical) of Home Appliance or similar product
- Direct experience in Tooling supplier/Supply chain management
- Familiar with tooling development process from DFM to release to mass production
- Proficient in stamping/ plastic tooling cost structure, understand each machining process
- High integrity, self-motivated, diligent and quick learning
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in reading/written English; Liaison with China/oversea customers independently
- Skilled at Microsoft Office(i.e. Excel, PPT)
Education/Certifications/Affiliations
- Bachelor degree in mechanical/tooling related discipline
- 8+ years consumer product compliance experience, appliance experience preferred
- Skilled at world-class sourcing methods
- Able to evaluate new tooling and modification cost
- Strong analytical skills (i.e. cost modeling, quotation analysis, supplier selection)
Travel Requirements
- Flexibility for domestic and international travel as required.
