JOB OVERVIEW

Under the direction of the Senior Manager of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), Product and Social Compliance, this role oversees and manages corporate compliance and safety programs across Callaway Golf Company's brands and product lines in Asia. It acts as a liaison with suppliers on product compliance, social compliance audits, corrective actions, and safety initiatives, while monitoring regulatory and industry developments. The position also supervises compliance and safety staff in the region, conducts supplier visits to address potential risks, collaborates with cross-functional teams to support product development and launches, and provides training on compliance initiatives. Additionally, it supports efforts to develop and implement innovative materials that improve product performance, sustainability, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reports to and supports the Senior Manager of EH&S, Product and Social Compliance.
  • Maintains indirect reporting to brand leaders, including TravisMathew and the Head of Asia Sourcing and Product Development.
  • Supports the development and execution of product and social compliance programs.
  • Assists in implementing safety initiatives at supplier facilities.
  • Develops and updates policies and procedures to meet government and company compliance requirements, including the Supplier Code of Conduct and PO Terms and Conditions.
  • Maintains safety, product, and social compliance metrics and ESG reporting dashboards.
  • Ensures products comply with the TravisMathew Product Compliance Manual (US and EU standards) and monitors supplier performance using CAPA and failure investigation tools.
  • Supports product compliance initiatives, including but not limited to:

+ Develops team members on company policies, procedures, programs, and culture.

+ Educates suppliers on RSL and chemical/physical management best practices.

+ Reviews supplier RSL programs to ensure effective testing processes are in place.

+ Benchmarks Tier 13 suppliers against industry best practices.

+ Builds strong cross-brand partnerships with sourcing, engineering, quality, and program management teams.

+ Trains company staff and key suppliers on RSL and physical testing requirements.

+ Supports RSL and physical testing by coordinating with suppliers and laboratories.

+ Maintains knowledge of customer compliance requirements (e.g., Costco, DSG, Decathlon).

+ Maintains knowledge of key regulations such as REACH, POP, Prop 65, CPSIA, CPS, and China GB standards.

+ Maintains knowledge of industry standards such as Oeko-Tex, Bluesign, and AATCC.

+ Maintains awareness of EU compliance standards including ESPR and Digital Product Passport (DPP).

  • Supports the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, in the following:

+ Conducts internal Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) audits as directed by corporate management.

+ Supports third-party auditors during CSR audits.

+ Visits supplier facilities to verify implementation of Corrective Action Plans (CAP).

+ Follows up with suppliers on overdue CAP responses and conducts visits to ensure compliance.

+ Reports supplier labor or environmental concerns to the Senior Manager of EH&S.

+ Supports new supplier onboarding, including document validation and site visits.

+ Reports CSR data in accordance with ESG reporting standards.

  • Provides Environmental and Safety oversight to supplier operations.

+ Audits suppliers to ensure strong EH&S practices protecting workers and the environment.

+ Educates suppliers on EH&S best practices, including PPE, engineering controls, ergonomics, and industrial hygiene.

+ Promotes fire safety and follows up on recommendations from insurance audits.

+ Reports life safety concerns to Callaway management.

+ Ensures proper handling and permitting of hazardous materials, waste, and emissions.

+ Identifies non-compliance with building, electrical, and fire codes.

+ Collects supplier EH&S data for GRI reporting requirements.

  • Promotes and reports sustainable work practices.

+ Identifies opportunities for energy efficiency improvements. Promote waste minimization/recycling.

+ Tracks and reports sustainable metrics.

AUTHORITY TO ACT

  • Adheres to Callaway Golf company policies.
  • Works under the supervision of the Sr. Manager, EH&S, Product and Social Compliance, while operating independently; work is periodically reviewed for compliance and completion.
  • Maintains dotted-line reporting to support various brands and departments on sourcing, apparel, sustainability, and compliance projects as assigned.
  • Notifies management of policy violations and advises employees on compliance requirements.
  • Authorized to develop policies for assigned projects with review and approval from the Sr. Manager EH&S, Security leadership, or relevant brand leadership.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in English
  • Good in Chinese is a plus
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to multitask.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Communicates effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptable and open to continuous improvement.
  • Able to prioritize multiple projects and responsibilities.
  • Experience in Product Compliance, Social Compliance, or Security is a plus.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: Bachelor's degree; engineering preferred, includes classwork in general and organic chemistry.
  • CSR and/or Security industry experience is a strong plus.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the manufacturing sector, with a preference towards compliance-related work in the sporting goods, apparel, or footwear industries.
  • Knowledge of audit protocols, such as WRAP, SEDEX, SA-8000, and C-TPAT, is a strong plus.
  • Continuing education on subjects relevant to this position is expected.
