Job Description
- Work with R&D for New Product Introduction Projects during and after each development stage.
- Assist sourcing/material groups to find, test and qualify new or alternative components.
- Work in conjunction with R&D in testing and qualification of alternate EOL components.
- Assist on evaluation testing required for alternative component qualification
- Coordinate with R&D for resolving testing and design issues on products.
- Analysed and recommend corrective action in case of any design failure.
- Compile failure analysis report for giving feedback to supplier / R&D for appropriate actions.
- Document, track and escalate issues as appropriate, using quality tools or similar techniques.
- Provide engineering support for all activities in testing products in factory.
- Participate in troubleshooting and trial run of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution.
- Analysed and recommend improvements to all production process and methods to facilitate cost reduction and quality improvement regarding testing and manufacturing.
- Train and develop technicians and troubleshooters to perform job correctly and on time.
- Work with test equipment suppliers on proper maintenance and upgrade of software/firmware.
- Identify latest technology and technique on power supply testing method.
Qualifications
- University degree or higher in a relevant engineering or science base discipline.
- Proficiency with instruments: Oscilloscope, Electronic Load, Power Analyzer, AC Source, DAQ, Multiplexers, Hi-Pot Tester and other test and measurement equipment by either manual or remote operation through a communication interface
- Knowledgeable with communication protocols: GPIB, I2C, RS485, CAN, ETHERNET, USB, etc.
- Proficiency in programming: Chroma 8000, Python, Visual Studio, Web page development tools, etc.
- Strong understanding of SMPS fundamentals
- Experience of the design and implementation of automated test systems, tool/jig for supporting test.
- Knowledge of functional testing: efficiency, load regulation, line regulation, inrush current, protection testing (OVP, OCP, SCP) , and other MCU-based calibration and verification testing.
- Experience in working as R&D, Debug Engineer, Test Engineer
- Experience in setting up and maintain test programs / fixture setup and/or modify / debug test program, revision change management, and be able to make failure analysis (FA) report.
- Relevant work experience in development and/or testing role.
- A creative and considered approach to problem solving.
- Good organisational skills, able to handle a broad and complex workload.
- Ability to gather, manage and utilize statistical data to perform analysis for test yield and production improvement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Works well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in troubleshooting PCBA, test setup and ATEs.
