As a Technical Writer - Software Documentation, you will play a key role in creating clear, accurate, and accessible content that supports our software products and industrial automation solutions. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and quality teams to ensure documentation is technically sound, user‑focused, and aligned with diverse stakeholder needs. This role requires strong communication skills, a passion for clarity, and the ability to translate complex concepts into meaningful guidance for global users.

As a Technical Writer - Software Documentation, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining high‑quality technical documentation, including user manuals, reference guides, release notes, and internal knowledge resources, with a focus on industrial automation systems such as Allen‑Bradley PLC, TwinCAT Soft PLC, InTouch SCADA, and Ignition SCADA.

  • Partnering with engineers, product experts, and SMEs to gather technical information, validate accuracy, and translate complex system behaviors into clear, user‑friendly content.

  • Creating visual documentation assets, such as diagrams, flowcharts, and system overviews, to improve comprehension of technical workflows and processes.

  • Reviewing, revising, and enhancing existing documentation to ensure clarity, consistency, accessibility, and alignment with company standards.

  • Ensuring compliance with organizational style guides, branding, and relevant regulatory or industry requirements across all documentation deliverables.

  • Managing documentation repositories and version control, using industry-standard tools to maintain structure, traceability, and up-to-date content.

  • Driving continuous improvement in documentation processes, contributing to knowledge-sharing initiatives and strengthening collaboration across teams.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or have equivalent practical experience).

  • Be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with a strong commitment to clarity, accuracy, and detail.

  • Can understand, simplify, and explain complex technical concepts for audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge.

  • Bring a collaborative, proactive, and inclusive approach to working in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams.
