Job Overview:
We are looking for an On-Site Equipment Maintenance & Technical Support Engineer who is passionate about both hardware and software systems and enjoys hands-on technical work. The ideal candidate should have an educational background in computer-related fields, be comfortable with coding and hardware troubleshooting, and be capable of independently resolving technical issues in a fast-paced startup environment while continuously improving operational processes. This role will provide integrated hardware and software support for the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site installation, maintenance, configuration, and debugging of equipment, including connecting peripherals (cameras, robotic arms, etc.), updating workstation configurations, and completing calibrations according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure stable operation.
- Monitor system and network performance; analyze system logs and network settings (IP, DNS, etc.) to troubleshoot latency, disconnection, and other technical issues while ensuring system stability through timely software and hardware support.
- Utilize Linux command-line tools (htop, ifconfig, Docker, vim, etc.) and basic scripting for system maintenance; leverage AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) to improve debugging and development efficiency; proactively identify and report potential issues.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records, troubleshooting documentation, and SOPs to ensure knowledge retention, compliance with safety standards, and effective information sharing within the team.
- Collaborate closely with remote engineering teams, product managers, and operations staff through clear technical communication to deliver integrated hardware-software support, accelerate issue resolution, and continuously improve workflows and processes.
Qualifications:
- Hardware Knowledge: Proficient in identifying and connecting various peripheral interfaces with a clear understanding of USB 2.0 vs. USB 3.0differences; experienced in installing, replacing, and troubleshooting common peripherals such as cameras.
- Systems & Tools: Minimum 1 year of experience working with Linux systems (familiar with command-line tools such as htop, ifconfig, Docker, vim, etc.); capable of interpreting system logs and debugging scripts (basic Bash/Python skills); experienced in using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) to enhance debugging and development efficiency; proficient with Git version control and remote collaboration workflows.
- Networking Fundamentals: Solid understanding of TCP/IP and Wi-Fi networking; able to troubleshoot latency and connection issues; familiar with IP, DNS, and wireless channel configuration.
- Hands-on Ability & Collaboration: Strong practical troubleshooting skills, capable of replacing on-site components (USB cables, camera modules, robotic arm parts, etc.) and performing calibration tasks; detail-oriented with strong awareness of safety procedures and documentation practices (equipment logs and issue tracking); excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineers, product managers, and operations teams.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Automation, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred: Experience in robotics systems or embedded device maintenance is a strong advantage.
