Responsibilities:

  • Facilities Operation & Maintenance Management
  • Systems Oversight: Manage the end-to-end operation of all school infrastructure, including Building Management Systems (BMS), electrical/substation, HVAC & heat pumps, fire protection, water/irrigation, swimming pool, and security/access control systems.
  • Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Establish and execute a structured schedule for routine inspections. Oversee/fix minor/major repairs (electrical, plumbing, furniture, structural finishings….) to ensure minimal disruption to school activities.
  • Contractor Management: Supervise external vendors during major maintenance works. Conduct rigorous quality checks and formal acceptance of maintenance projects.
  • Innovation: Proactively propose technical improvements to enhance energy efficiency and operational reliability.
  • Leadership & Team Management
  • Team Supervision: Lead, train, and mentor the technical team. Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to safety protocols and labour discipline.
  • Resource Management: Manage technical inventory shared with OM, including spare parts and tools, ensuring cost-effective procurement and secure storage.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Serve as the primary point of contact for technical knowledge;disseminate training from contractors/project management to the technical team.
  • Reporting: Provide periodic reports on system status, maintenance costs, and operational challenges to the School Board/Project Management.
  • Projects & Administrative Support
  • School Renovations: Lead annual facility upgrade projects—from budget estimation and contractor selection to site supervision and final handover.
  • Project Liaison: Support the Project Management department by surveying sites, taking measurements (AutoCAD skills preferred), and assisting in official documentation for state management agencies.
  • Operational Support: Coordinate logistics for school events (stage/sound setup), manage utility meter readings, and assist with heavy equipment relocation or general facility setups as requested.
  • Other works when required by direct line manager, school administrators and project management departments.
