- Oversee a team of technicians and engineers, driving innovation, and ensuring the development of high-quality and market-leading furniture products.
- Managing handover information from RD, executing product improvements and structure standards, and ensuring all products are synchronized before mass production.
Key responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, make a plan for the team, check drawings before release, and inspire a team of researchers and engineers.
- Technical Standard: Make sure engineers follow exactly the standard of building products suitable for each brand, saving time in production, and enhancing the personal skills of the team.
- Drawing Review: Ensuring all the drawings are reviewed by the leader and final review by the supervisor before releasing them to the next related departments
- Manufacturing Process: Ensure technical staff is trained to update knowledge of the manufacturing process
- Continuous Improvement: Implement processes for continuous improvement in Production with higher efficiency and improve production to get products manufactured faster
- Risk Assessment: After receiving the hand-over package from R&D for new products, do the risk assessment and hand-over it to the Production team.
- Material Optimization: Research and implement alternative materials that contribute to cost reduction while maintaining or improving product quality and sustainability standards
- ERP System: Update photo/ information/ video to Odoo Task daily
- Always follow other tasks as arranged and assigned by the Supervisor / HOD
Key skills and experience
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Industrial Design, Furniture Engineering, or a related field.
- Above 3 - 5 years of relevant work experience / 1 year of manager level
- Proven track record of successful project management in the furniture industry.
- Strong knowledge of technology and trends in the furniture field.
- Understanding of product research and development processes and techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and furniture design principles.
- Strong leadership skills, coupled with the ability to work independently.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Analytic thinking, patience, integrity.
- Able to work well under pressure and tight timelines.
- Carefully, enthusiastic, highly responsible, proactive, and supportive.
- Exceptional decision-making skills in strategic and operational contexts.
- Proficient in Inventor/SolidWorks/CAD software and other design tools, MS Office (Word, Excel).
