Job Overview

This role provides a unique opportunity to shape the look, feel, and perceived quality of VinFast vehicles. The successful candidate will play a central role in defining customer-facing quality, craftsmanship, and comfort, directly influencing brand perception and long-term product excellence.

Experience

  • Expert in interior and exterior trim systems , including instrument panels, consoles, door trims, headliners, bumpers, fascias, exterior panels, and decorative elements.
  • Extensive experience in identifying and resolving GD&T-related issues , tolerance stack-ups, flush & gap, and build quality concerns.
  • Strong background in Perceived Quality (PQ) , including visual quality, tactile feel, fit & finish, and customer-facing craftsmanship.
  • Proven capability in resolving manufacturing and quality issues , working closely with plants, suppliers, and quality teams to address defects and process variability.
  • Deep experience in diagnosing and fixing squeak & rattle (BSR) issues through design, material selection, interfaces, and assembly strategies.
  • Proven experience ensuring interior and exterior trim fixing strategies meet or exceed crash safety requirements , including side impact performance (e.g. R95), with a strong understanding of trim retention, break-away behaviour, and occupant interaction during crash events.
  • Strong understanding of air leakage, sealing strategies, and wind noise contributors , working in close collaboration with NVH and aerodynamics teams.
  • Experience working with aerodynamics teams to optimise aero-relevant trim surfaces, sealing concepts, underbody and exterior details without compromising quality or appearance.
  • Familiarity with homologation and regulatory requirements related to interior and exterior trim, including driver sight lines, mirrors, glazing interfaces, and interior safety considerations.
  • Experience collaborating closely with Accommodation and Usage attributes to ensure occupant comfort, usability, ergonomics, and premium feel.
  • Proven ability to define, review, and enforce trim design rules, standards, and best practices .
  • Strong track record of capturing and deploying lessons learned into future vehicle programs and standards.

Position Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical authority for interior and exterior trim across VinFast vehicle programs.
  • Lead resolution of all major trim-related issues, including GD&T, PQ, BSR, air leakage, and manufacturing quality concerns.
  • Define, review, and continuously improve trim design rules, standards, and technical guidelines .
  • Support and challenge designs at concept, detailed design, and validation phases to ensure robust quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with Aerodynamics, NVH, Accommodation, Safety, Manufacturing, and Supplier teams to deliver integrated trim solutions.
  • Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions for complex trim, quality, and customer-perceived issues.
  • Provide expert input into homologation-related topics impacting trim and interior/exterior visibility and usability.
  • Capture key learnings from vehicle programs and ensure they are embedded into future platforms, standards, and processes.
  • Advise senior leadership on trim-related risks, trade-offs, and technical direction
