OCTOAI - a generative AI tool developed by STEAM for Vietnam along with its partners Meta, Vietnet-ICT, and HOCMAI LITERACY Course with a view to launching a pioneering initiative AI-forward Educators with Octo AI to bring artificial intelligence into K-12 education. The project partners with the new generation of AI-era teachers, aiming for AI literacy for the masses, helping to make AI knowledge and skills universal, accessible and become a fundamental competency in teaching.

STEAM for Vietnam is looking for Teaching Assistants to help with the general supervision and management of teachers participating in OCTOAI LITERACY Course. You will work under the direction of the STEAM for Vietnam Edu PM and be expected to assist with the implementation of instructional plans, the design of learning materials, supporting teachers during their inas well as the adaptation process of OctoAI tool.

This is an unpaid, volunteer opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will be divided between direct educational support and technical quality assurance:

1. Curriculum Developing Support:

+ Collaborate with the Lead Teaching Assistant to work with Project Managers, Educational Project Managers, Content Lead to prepare required materials for each lesson.

+ Design and create visually compelling, clear, and engaging lecture slides using Canva, Google Slides, and Kling.

+ Managing virtual classrooms, monitoring chat, and answering questions from the students.

+ Provide direct, supportive, and timely assistance to teacher participants, answering their questions about the course content and AI tools.

2. AI Tool & Quality Assurance (QA):

+ Conduct rigorous prompt testing for our proprietary AI tools to evaluate the accuracy, relevance, and quality of their outputs.

+ Systematically identify, document, and report bugs, errors, and inconsistencies found during testing.

+ Analyze failed or suboptimal AI-generated content and provide clear, actionable feedback to the development team.

+ Contribute to the improvement of the AI tools by suggesting new features, prompt structures, and usability enhancements based on your testing and interaction with users (teachers).

Required Qualifications

+ Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate expertise in presentation and design software, specifically Canva and Google Slides.

+ Attention to Detail: An exceptional eye for detail, particularly in identifying textual errors, logical inconsistencies, and design flaws.

+ Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Vietnamese. Having strong English proficiency is considered a bonus point. Must be able to clearly articulate technical issues and provide constructive feedback.

+ Problem-Solving: Come up with a proactive, methodical approach to testing and problem-solving.

+ Passion for Education: A genuine interest in educational technology (EdTech) and empowering teachers.

Preferred (Bonus) Qualifications:

+ Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant, instructional designer, or in a similar educational support role.

+ Familiarity with generative AI concepts and tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini,).

+ Basic understanding of software Quality Assurance (QA) principles or experience in a testing environment.
