The role
This is a wonderful opportunity to join an outstanding Performing Arts team.
The department is exceptionally resourced with a dedicated dance studio, multiple music classrooms and practice rooms, a separate drama studio, a multipurpose performing arts space, and a large auditorium.We offer a huge range of CCAs and opportunities for students outside the classroom, from concerts to productions, competitions and whole school events, with the department fully involved with them all. This is your opportunity to share your talent and passion with our students and the BIS Hanoi community.
At BIS, Music is taught through the whole school, from Early Years to Year 13. Students can opt to take Music, Drama, or Dance in Years 10-11, or a combination of two if desired. At IBDP level, we currently offer Music, Dance and Theatre Studies. We are specifically looking for someone to take a lead role in our IGCSE and IBDP music programmes. KS4 and/or KS5 experience is therefore essential. The successful post holder is also likely to teach some upper Primary Music lessons.
At BIS we teach the Juilliard Creative Classroom program up to KS3. Training in this will be provided by specialists from Juilliard from New York City, who send music, drama, and dance experts to our school every year. The dedicated department also lead on high-quality productions outside of the classroom with many performances and extra-curricular activities taking place throughout the year
