The Tax & Regulatory Senior Manager is responsible for leading the Group's tax strategy, tax planning, tax governance, and tax risk control across all entities within CCI - Betrimex Group (BTMi Group).
This role ensures that the Group's tax positions are well-planned, properly documented, compliant with local and international tax regulations, and aligned with the Group's business model, cross-border structure, transfer pricing policy, audit requirements, and long-term financial strategy.
The role acts as the key tax advisor to the Group Financial Reporting & Tax Director, Group CFO, Business Finance, Legal, Accounting, Treasury, and overseas entities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Group Tax Strategy & Business Advisory
- Develop and execute the Group Tax Strategy to support business growth, cross-border operations, and long-term value creation.
- Advise management on tax implications of business models, investments, M&A, restructuring, supply chain, financing, and international expansion.
- Optimize the Group's tax position while ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations.
- Support tax-efficient cash movement and profit repatriation, including dividends, intercompany charges, service fees, royalties, and financing arrangements.
Tax Governance, Policies & Risk Management
- Establish and maintain a Group Tax Governance Framework applicable to all subsidiaries.
- Develop and standardize Group Tax Policies, tax manuals, and operating procedures to ensure consistent tax treatment throughout the Group
- Integrate tax review into key business processes, including procurement, contracting, intercompany transactions, and payment approvals.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate tax risks, ensuring material tax matters are addressed proactively before business commitments are made.
Transfer Pricing & International Tax
- Lead the Group's transfer pricing strategy, governance, documentation, and implementation.
- Develop and maintain transfer pricing policies covering products, services, financing, royalties, shared services, and other related-party transactions.
- Advise on international tax matters, including withholding tax, tax treaties, permanent establishment, beneficial ownership, and BEPS/Pillar Two developments.
- Coordinate with external advisors to ensure tax-efficient and compliant cross-border structures.
Tax Planning, Incentives & Value Creation
- Lead tax planning initiatives to optimize the Group's effective tax rate and support sustainable business growth.
- Identify, evaluate, and maximize available tax incentives, investment incentives, R&D benefits, export incentives, and government grants across jurisdictions.
- Monitor compliance with incentive conditions and advise management on tax-efficient investment structures.
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Oversee tax compliance across all Group entities, ensuring timely, accurate, and complete tax filings and payments.
- Monitor tax positions, tax balances, tax audits, refunds, and compliance calendars across jurisdictions.
- Review significant tax matters and ensure consistency between tax filings, accounting records, and financial statements.
- Support tax accounting, deferred tax, tax provisions, and tax disclosures under IFRS and local GAAP.
Tax Audit & Stakeholder Management
- Lead tax audits, tax inspections, and dispute resolution with tax authorities.
- Maintain robust tax documentation and audit defense files for material transactions.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders on complex tax matters.
- Report significant tax risks, exposures, and planning opportunities to the Group Financial Reporting & Tax Director and Group CFO.
Business Partnering & Capability Development
- Act as the Group's trusted tax advisor to Finance, Commercial, Supply Chain, Treasury, Legal, HR, Operations, and other business functions.
- Provide practical tax guidance on commercial contracts, pricing, procurement, investment structures, and strategic business initiatives.
- Develop and deliver tax training programs to Chief Accountants, Tax Leads, Finance teams, and relevant business functions across the Group.
- Communicate and promote Group Tax Policies, ensuring consistent understanding and application across all subsidiaries.
- Monitor and ensure Chief Accountants and local tax teams comply with applicable tax regulations, Group Tax Policies, and standardized tax practices.
- Provide technical support and guidance to local finance teams on complex tax matters, new regulations, and policy updates.
- Foster a strong tax compliance and governance culture by embedding tax awareness into business decision-making.
Perform any other duties as required by the BOM/BOD.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Law, or related field.
- CPA Vietnam, ACCA, CPA Australia, ICAEW, CTA, or equivalent qualification is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in corporate taxation, with at least 5 years in a managerial or regional/group tax role.
- Experience in Big 4 tax/audit or multinational group tax function is strongly preferred.
- Extensive experience in: Corporate Income Tax (CIT), VAT/GST, WHT/FCT, PIT, and indirect taxes; Transfer Pricing, cross-border transactions, and international tax; Tax planning, tax governance, and tax risk management; Tax audits, tax inspections, and dispute resolution; Designing and implementing Group Tax Policies and governance frameworks.
- Hands-on experience supporting M&A, corporate restructuring, financing, or regional expansion projects is preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, agriculture, food processing, or export-oriented businesses is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel. Destinations may include Southeast Asia (e.g., Indonesia, Singapore) and other regions where the Group operates.
