Job Description

SUMMARY

JGN is seeking a experiencedTactical Radio Technician / Communications Systems Specialistto support ongoing U.S. Government operations in Vietnam. This role involves maintaining, programming, and ensuring mission readiness of field communications equipment used in support of U.S. Government activities.

This position is intended tobegin in December 2026and will bebased in Da Nang, Vietnam, supporting JGN's technical responsibilities and day-to-day operational requirements.

You will serve as the primary communications equipment subject-matter expert working alongside our management team to establish processes, train personnel, and deliver mission requirements in accordance with U.S. Government and Prime Contractor Performance Work Statements (PWS). The position requires demonstrated experience withU.S. Military tactical radio field equipment, along with the ability to work independently in an overseas environment.

This position is open to U.S. Nationals ONLY and prior U.S. military experience isstrongly preferred, as is a willingness to relocate internationally for extended periods. This role requires an unaccompanied overseas assignment. JGN will provide all required relocation costs, visas and work authorization; however, spousal or dependent relocation support is NOT included - please take this into consideration when applying.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, service, and troubleshootU.S. Military tactical handheld and mobile radio systems, associated accessories, and related field communications equipment
  • Program radios, manage configuration files, load mission-specific settings, and ensure all equipment meets operational requirements
  • Conduct firmware updates, functional checks, bench testing, and performance verification prior to deployment
  • Support the setup, operation, and maintenance of portable repeaters, base stations, and other communications infrastructure as required
  • Develop and maintain documentation, maintenance logs, equipment tracking systems, and SOPs in accordance with company and U.S. Government standards
  • Mentor JGN personnel in radio operation, handling, basic troubleshooting, and safety procedures
  • Provide technical input and recommendations regarding tools, spare parts, test equipment, and communication system improvements
  • Assist with mission equipment preparation, staging, inventory control, and post-mission equipment recovery/inspection
  • Coordinate with management, U.S. Government representatives, and Prime Contractor staff to support communications-related requirements outlined in the PWS
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with U.S. Government policies, export regulations, and company internal procedures

Required Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience maintaining, programming, or operatingU.S. Military tactical radios, P25 systems, or comparable tactical/public-safety communication equipment
  • Working knowledge of radio programming software, configuration management, firmware updates, and field-level troubleshooting
  • Basic understanding of RF principles, antenna systems, signal flow, and equipment diagnostics
  • Ability to develop and maintain documentation, equipment logs, and technical records in accordance with organizational and U.S. Government standards
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote or overseas environment
  • Willingness to relocate independently to Vietnam; position does not include family or dependent accompaniment allowances.
