Job Description

A leading global organisation is seeking a Supply Planning and Operations Manager to oversee supply planning and operations across the assigned country or region, based in Ho Chi Minh City.

This role offers you the opportunity to make a significant impact by owning capacity planning, monthly buy processes, purchase order management, work-in-progress tracking, and vendor performance to ensure on-time delivery. You will be at the heart of strategic sourcing initiatives, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including Merchandising, Brand Planning, Buying, Quality Assurance, and more. The position provides exposure to high-level decision-making and process improvements while supporting factory growth and transitions. With regular factory visits and multi-stakeholder meetings, this is an excellent chance for you to develop your career in a supportive environment that values teamwork, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

  • Take ownership of end-to-end supply planning and operations for a major international brand, ensuring seamless coordination between internal teams and external partners.
  • Enjoy flexible working opportunities in a vibrant office setting in Ho Chi Minh City, with up to 20% travel annually for factory visits and stakeholder engagement.
  • Benefit from ongoing training opportunities and supportive leadership focused on team development, succession planning, and process enhancement.

What you'll do:

As a Supply Planning and Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the supply chain landscape for your assigned region. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close collaboration with various departments to ensure that all aspects of supply planning are executed efficiently. You will be responsible for negotiating capacity agreements with suppliers, managing complex buy plans throughout each season, overseeing purchase order workflows from inception through completion, resolving any issues that arise during production cycles, and implementing process improvements that drive operational excellence. Your ability to foster strong relationships across teams-both internally and externally-will be key to achieving successful outcomes. Regular factory visits will keep you connected to ground-level operations while your involvement in multi-stakeholder meetings ensures alignment on strategic priorities. By coaching your team members towards shared objectives and facilitating their professional growth through succession planning initiatives, you will help build a dependable network of supply chain professionals who thrive in a collaborative environment.

  • Assist the Sourcing Director in setting, driving, and executing a three-year sourcing strategy that aligns with organisational goals.
  • Partner with the Merchandising team to ensure accurate forecast allocation according to sourcing strategy; validate and rectify data to support seasonal demand requirements.
  • Negotiate seasonal and monthly capacity with Tier 1 suppliers; collaborate with the brand planning team on advance production and buying plans to achieve level loading and fulfil peak month demand.
  • Lead Sales & Operations Planning (S&Op) meetings; facilitate decisions on pull forward/push out actions and minor adjustments to sourcing strategy as needed.
  • Work closely with brand planning and buying teams to set seasonal buy calendars; govern timely buy releases and confirmations while leading issue resolution efforts.
  • Oversee purchase order management including WIP tracking, potential issue resolution, on-time performance monitoring, payment tracking, and weekly reporting.
  • Execute ramp-up or ramp-down plans for new factory growth/setup as well as factory exit strategies to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Manage purchase order reallocations and subcontracting activities in partnership with Quality Assurance and Merchandising teams when necessary.
  • Drive process and system improvements by leading supplier training sessions on new procedures or systems to enhance overall operational effectiveness.
  • Lead vendor performance reviews as well as onboarding or exit processes for new factories; set objectives for your team members while providing coaching and succession planning.

What you bring:

Your background should reflect substantial experience within supply chain management roles where you have demonstrated an ability to manage complex planning processes across multiple regions or product categories. As a Supply Planning and Operations Manager, your proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams will enable you to navigate intricate stakeholder relationships smoothly. You bring advanced analytical capabilities that allow you to interpret large datasets using tools like ERP/SAP systems alongside Excel or Power BI. Your interpersonal strengths are evident through your ability to communicate clearly across language barriers while fostering trust among colleagues from different departments. Experience guiding teams through process improvements-whether introducing new systems or refining existing workflows-will be invaluable here. Additionally, your commitment to nurturing talent within your team ensures continuity of expertise even as business needs evolve. Adaptability is one of your core attributes: you thrive amid shifting priorities typical of high-velocity environments where quick thinking is required. Finally, your willingness to travel demonstrates dedication towards maintaining strong connections between office-based functions and factory operations.

  • Demonstrated expertise in supply chain planning including capacity planning, work-in-progress tracking, and effective resolution of supply issues within complex environments.
  • Advanced analytical skills combined with proven experience in KPI management to monitor performance metrics across multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in ERP/SAP systems as well as advanced use of Excel, PowerPoint, or Power BI for data analysis and reporting purposes.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills enabling you to engage collaboratively with diverse teams such as Merchandising, Brand Planning, Quality Assurance, Buying Teams, Vendors, and Suppliers.
  • Outstanding English communication abilities both written and verbal; proficiency in Vietnamese or Chinese would be considered an asset but not essential.
  • Experience leading teams through change management initiatives including process/system improvements along with supplier training programmes.
  • Track record of successfully managing vendor performance reviews as well as onboarding/exiting factories within a fast-paced manufacturing or supply chain context.
  • Ability to coach team members effectively by setting clear objectives while nurturing their professional development through succession planning activities.
  • Comfortable working in high-velocity environments involving frequent multi-stakeholder meetings where adaptability is crucial for success.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% annually for factory visits or stakeholder engagements.
