Position Summary:
The Supply Chain & Sourcing Manager APAC is responsible for leading regional sourcing, procurement, and supply chain operations across Vietnam, China, Bangladesh, India, and Indonesia. This position plays a key role in building a resilient, cost-competitive, and scalable supply chain that supports Seaman Paper's packaging business across footwear, apparel, and sustainable packaging categories. The role will work closely with the VP Strategic Operations, APAC and cross-functional teams to ensure reliable supply, optimized cost structures, and regional operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies across the APAC region to support material, component, and finished goods requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to expand capability, improve competitiveness, and support growth initiatives.
- Lead pricing negotiations and contract discussions to achieve cost savings and margin improvement targets.
- Maintain comprehensive vendor performance scorecards covering cost, quality, service, compliance, and sustainability metrics.
- Ensure regional pricing, terms, and supplier agreements are aligned with global procurement strategies to maximize cost leverage and consistency across all Seaman Paper operations.
Supply Chain Operations
- Optimize supply chain flows including procurement, production planning, transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
- Coordinate with logistics partners to manage import/export documentation, HS codes, COO requirements, and compliance with trade agreements.
- Support regional localization strategies and new capacity development in Vietnam, Bangladesh, India, and other APAC countries.
- Conduct supply chain risk assessments and develop contingency plans for material disruptions, geopolitical shifts, and capacity constraints.
- Design and maintain the most efficient and cost-effective transportation routes for inbound raw materials, inter-facility transfers, and outbound finished goods across APAC and global destinations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product Development, GPS, Customer Service, Quality, and Commercial teams to ensure material readiness for customer programs and new product launches.
- Provide timely data and insights to support costing, RFQs, sampling schedules, and operational decision-making.
- Support special projects including JV setups, new manufacturing integrations, and category expansion initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Seaman Paper's global supply chain, logistics, and procurement teams to ensure regional sourcing strategies support company-wide leverage, global contract alignment, and multi-site vendor optimization.
Operational Execution & Reporting
- Oversee regional material planning and inventory controls to ensure on-time delivery performance.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for sourcing, procurement, and vendor management.
- Track and report on key KPIs including cost savings, lead time reductions, supplier performance, and supply chain resilience metrics.
Compliance & Sustainability
- Ensure sourcing practices comply with customer requirements, audit protocols, FSC standards, recycled content specifications, and sustainability objectives.
- Maintain full documentation integrity for internal and external audits.
- Support initiatives to identify and qualify environmentally preferred materials and substrates.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of sourcing, procurement, or supply chain experience in APAC.
- Experience in packaging, paper, printing, footwear, or manufacturing industries highly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong regional market knowledge across Vietnam, China, Bangladesh, and India.
- Demonstrated capability in vendor negotiation, contract management, and multi-country sourcing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret cost models and operational data.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Vietnamese or Mandarin is a plus.
- Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Willingness to travel throughout the region (3040%).
Work Environment
This role is based in Vietnam and will require regular interaction with manufacturing partners, mills, converters, and internal teams across the APAC region. Travel to supplier sites, audits, and regional hubs is expected.
