Role Summary
The Supplier Relationship & Acquisition Associate is an individual contributor focused on both growing Wayfair's category performance and building our Asia-based supplier base. You will work directly with external partners, suppliers, and internal cross-functional teams to advance your category's business agenda, expand our catalog, and support the end-to-end onboarding of new suppliers onto Wayfair.
You will execute against clear goals for your category, analyze data to identify opportunities, support commercial negotiations, and manage key business metrics and pipelines.
What You'll Do
- Build strong relationships with existing suppliers and support negotiations to secure competitive pricing, availability, and promotional support.
- Support the supplier acquisition pipeline by researching potential suppliers, qualifying leads from external partners and events, and scheduling and joining introductory calls.
- Communicate with target suppliers throughout the setup process, helping them understand Wayfair requirements, collecting needed information, and coordinating with internal teams to resolve issues.
- Advance catalog expansion by onboarding new assortments, ensuring product data quality, and tracking assortment health for your category.
- Analyze data to identify revenue and profit growth opportunities for your category and for specific supplier partners; translate findings into concrete actions.
- Identify sales, merchandising, and operational opportunities for your category and collaborate with internal teams (Operations, Merchandising, Advertising, PR, Finance, Customer Service, Business Intelligence) to drive change.
- Analyze and anticipate competitor marketing, selection, and pricing strategies, and share insights with your team.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach, supplier status, and onboarding progress in internal tools; regularly report progress and learnings.
- Occasionally attend trade shows and/or travel to meet key suppliers and prospects, representing Wayfair professionally.

Key Responsibilities
Category Management
- Manage assigned category segments by supporting category growth, assortment expansion, supplier performance improvement, and execution of category initiatives.
- Analyze category trends, customer needs, and competitive insights to identify growth opportunities and provide recommendations to improve category performance.
- Execute category initiatives that increase product selection, improve customer experience, and contribute to commercial growth.
- Monitor key category metrics and collaborate with suppliers to address performance gaps and support continuous improvement.
Supplier Acquisition
- Develop and manage supplier pipelines within assigned categories through market research, prospecting, targeted outreach, and supplier engagement.
- Drive supplier acquisition activities by qualifying opportunities, supporting commercial discussions, coordinating onboarding processes, and ensuring successful supplier activation.
- Build relationships with prospective and existing suppliers to increase supplier participation and strengthen category coverage.
- Identify opportunities to improve supplier acquisition processes, conversion rates, and supplier onboarding experience.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in eCommerce, sourcing, category management, business development, or supply-side sales.
- Language skills:
- Vietnamese: Fluent (verbal, reading, and writing required)
- English: Fluent (reading and writing required; high verbal fluency preferred)
- Chinese: Verbal fluency is preferred but not required.
- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills; readiness to work with data using Excel and other analytics tools (SQL, Tableau, etc.).
- Experience using AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Glean, etc is preferred but not required.
- Articulate and persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to speak directly with owners and executives of supplier organizations.
- Demonstrated negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Practical problem-solving skills to diagnose root causes and implement solutions.
- Structured, proactive mindset with motivation to drive category growth and advance professionally.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
