Position Information

RHS Job Title Student Training & Development Assistant Job Description

Location: 1855 Place

Starting Pay: $13.73/hr

The Residential and Hospitality Services (RHS) Student Training and

Development Assistant will support training and development efforts for the

Human Resources component within the division. This may include creation

of e-learnings, material preparation, website maintenance, drafting emails and

communications, data entry and analysis, content creation, and knowledge

capture and documentation.

Typical Duties May Include

Attending unit meetings, testing elearning softwares and programs, creating

instructional videos, editing current training content and materials, preparing

materials for trainings, giving input on current training curriculum and design,

and maintaining unit calendars.

Required Qualifications

  • Be enrolled as a student at MSU (during academic year)
  • Must be available to work 12-15 hours per week between Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
  • Motivated and creative self-starter with effective communication and

organizational skills

  • Experience or coursework in education, adult learning principles,

communications, graphic design, training, supervising, customer service and/

or related fields

  • Proficiency in Office Suite applications
  • Knowledge of website building and maintenance
  • Strong writing skills in a variety of business formats, including procedures,

email, website, social media, etc.

  • Willing to learn and make the most of available resources
  • Experience working on a diverse team, and working directly with people from

diverse backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduating no earlier than Spring 2027

Physical Demands Work Hours

12-15 hours per week, typically between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday-Friday. Occasional nights and weekends.
