The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced education professional to join the Acumen team in Vietnam, to provide full-time support to our higher education client Charles Darwin University as a Student Recruitment Manager.

Role Summary:
While your primary duty station will be in your country of residence, this role carries a regional portfolio across Southeast Asia. You will lead the execution of strategic student recruitment and marketing activities that support CDU's international growth agenda, with a strong focus on agent management, lead generation, conversion and market development.
Working in close collaboration with CDU's Associate Director, International Student Growth and key internal stakeholders, you will act as CDU's senior In-Country Representative, engaging with recruitment partners, government bodies, education institutions, and prospective students to strengthen brand presence and drive student enrolment outcomes across the region.
In this capacity, you will represent CDU at key recruitment and stakeholder engagement events, deliver partner and agent training, and provide proactive support to future students throughout their decision-making journey. Flexibility to support additional SEA markets as priorities evolve is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Student Recruitment & Market Growth (Southeast Asia coverage)
- Lead Recruitment Strategy: Drive the development, implementation, and evaluation of CDU student recruitment plans, ensuring alignment with the University's overall international strategy and growth targets.
- Target Achievement: Responsible for achieving and exceeding enrolment targets for undergraduate, postgraduate, and pathway programs (including ELICOS/TAFE/VET where applicable).
- In-Market Representation: Represent Charles Darwin University at all key education fairs, exhibitions, school visits, seminars, and conversion events throughout Southeast Asia and, as required, internationally.
- Market Intelligence: Conduct ongoing market analysis and competitor analysis for Southeast Asia, providing timely and accurate data-driven insights to inform strategic planning, new program development, and pricing.
- Student Counselling and Conversion: Manage leads and conduct proactive, high-quality counselling for prospective students, parents, and school counsellors to support their journey from initial inquiry through to enrolment and visa outcome.
2. Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement
- Agent Management: Recruit, train, and actively manage a robust network of recruitment agents and third-party partners across Southeast Asia to ensure high performance, ethical practice, and maximized student application conversion rates.
- Partnership Development: Proactively identify, cultivate, and formalise new institutional partnerships (e.g., articulation agreements, dual/joint degrees, student mobility, and pathway arrangements) with universities, colleges, and schools across the region.
- Government & Key Stakeholder Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with government bodies (e.g., Ministries of Education), scholarship/sponsorship organisations, and industry contacts to support recruitment, partnership, and brand profile initiatives.
- Alumni and Community Engagement: Work with the Alumni team to build and leverage alumni links in the region for recruitment and promotional purposes.
3. Operational Management & Reporting
- Budget Control: Contribute to the budget planning and expenditure for the Southeast Asian region, ensuring activities are cost-effective and deliver a strong RoI.
- Reporting and CRM: Ensure the complete and accurate reporting of all recruitment and partnership activities, leads, and conversion data for performance tracking and forecasting.
- Compliance and Admissions: Work collaboratively with Admissions and International Teams to ensure adherence to CDU's Admission Guidelines and Policies, while providing constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively as a member of a matrix structure team, collaborating with marketing, admissions, academic faculties, and the regional team to deliver shared goals.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Completion of a degree and/or relevant combination of skills and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in international education recruitment or experience in sales and meeting/or exceeding targets with the ability to quickly acquire knowledge on international education.
Skills and Competencies:
- Potential to grow themselves outside the recruitment responsibilities to actively look for new channels to achieve their goals.
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to communicate and present effectively to groups, and with a diverse range of people and organisations.
- Excellent organisational skills including the ability to prioritise tasks and perform a diverse range of tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a matrix structure team, as well as work independently using initiative and judgement.
- Fluent in English.
- A valid passport with the ability to travel around South East Asia and internationally.
