The Role: 

The Student Recruitment Adviser within the Recruitment, Outreach, and Admissions team and holds responsibility for the planning and implementation of effective recruitment strategies to grow student numbers from Southeast Asia, in line with Falmouth University's strategic plan for international recruitment.

The role holder will make a key contribution to growing the university's income through international student enrolments, engaging with multiple recruitment channels, partners, and stakeholders, and capitalizing on business development opportunities.

Working closely with the University's International Recruitment Manager (UK), the role holder will help set and achieve ambitious recruitment targets for Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore) and will be responsible for developing and delivering the associated recruitment strategy and tactics. The post holder will collaborate with marketing colleagues to assist with profile-raising and publicity activity for the region, manage budgets, and co-ordinate in-country visits for academic and professional services colleagues.

Reporting:

The Student Recruitment Adviser will report to the International Recruitment and Partnerships Manager.

Key responsibilities: 

Strategy & Market Planning:

• Develop and execute market plans to maximize student and revenue growth from Southeast Asia.
• Identify new market opportunities, partnerships, and innovative recruitment approaches across multiple countries.

Recruitment Activity:

• Attend exhibitions, school and college visits, and agency meetings across Southeast Asia.
• Advise prospective students and offer-holders on programs, entry requirements, and application processes.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with education agents, school counsellors, alumni, sponsorship bodies, and other influencers across all target countries.
• Coordinate with embassies, education bodies, and government stakeholders where relevant.

Event Management:

• Organize recruitment-focused events (both online and offline) including agent workshops, offer-holder briefings, pre-departure sessions, and alumni engagement events across the region.

Marketing & Promotions:

• Support regional marketing campaigns, scholarships promotion, and social media engagement.
• Provide local market insights to marketing teams to tailor content for regional audiences.

Market Intelligence:

• Conduct competitor and market analysis for Southeast Asia, sharing actionable insights with the International Recruitment Manager.

Budget & ROI Tracking:

• Contribute to annual business cases and budget plans; manage expenditure for maximum impact.
• Conversion & Follow-up:
• Conduct outbound calls to prospects, follow up with applicants, support virtual conversion events, and ensure timely communication.

CRM & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate CRM records for prospects, agents, schools, and events.
• Produce monthly activity and performance reports and participate in regular check-ins with the UK-based team.

Cross-Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with admissions, marketing, and international recruitment colleagues to ensure a seamless applicant experience.

​Person Specification: 

·      Educated to Master's degree level or equivalent, preferably from the UK.

·      3+ years demonstrable experience in student recruitment, marketing, or business development in Southeast Asia

·      Proven track record of planning and implementing effective recruitment campaigns and achieving enrolment targets

·      Experience managing and developing agent networks across multiple countries

·      Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills, with experience using digital and social media for recruitment and engagement

·      Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize demanding workloads and meet deadlines

·      Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays when required

·      Willing to travel extensively across Southeast Asia (approx. 15–20 weeks per year) and to UK for trainings and meetings

·      Must hold a valid passport

·      Must not have business or family ties with educational agents
