Role Overview
The Head of Strategy leads the agency's strategic vision, driving impactful marketing and brand strategies for clients. This role blends data, creativity, and business insight to shape campaigns, guide client growth, and position the agency as a thought leader in the market.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
- Define and lead the agency's strategic offering across all clients and industries
- Develop integrated marketing strategies (brand, digital, content, media)
- Translate business objectives into actionable marketing plans
- Ensure consistency and excellence in strategic output across teams
2. Client Partnership
- Act as a senior strategic advisor to key clients
- Lead high-level client presentations, pitches, and workshops
- Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts
- Build strong relationships with C-level stakeholders
3. Team Management & Development
- Lead and mentor the strategy/planning team
- Foster a culture of insight-driven thinking and innovation
- Set clear KPIs and support career development of team members
- Collaborate closely with creative, media, and account teams
4. Insights & Research
- Oversee market research, consumer insights, and competitive analysis
- Leverage data, analytics, and trends to inform strategies
- Champion the use of data-driven decision-making across the agency
5. New Business & Growth
- Lead strategy for pitches and proposals
- Contribute to agency growth through compelling strategic narratives
- Identify new service offerings or market opportunities
6. Thought Leadership
- Establish the agency as a strategic authority through POVs, reports, and speaking opportunities
- Stay ahead of industry trends (digital, AI, consumer behavior, media)
- Share insights internally and externally
Key Requirements
Experience
- 15+ years in strategy/planning within marketing, advertising, or consulting
- Proven experience leading strategic initiatives for major brands
- Proven experience leading strategy teams and managing team leaders, with responsibility for teams of approximately 1520 members or more
- Strong track record in winning pitches and growing client accounts
