We are seeking a skilled Strategic Sourcing Specialist (Direct Materials) to join LEGO Manufacturing Vietnam (LMV) Procurement and drive strategic sourcing, supplier performance, and cost optimisation for direct materials in a fast-growing manufacturing environment. Core Responsibilities



  • Understand business needs and develop supply and sourcing strategies that comply with product specifications and category requirements.
  • Drive supplier quotations, cost breakdowns, and analyses to support effective negotiations, price adjustments based on cost drivers, and a competitive supplier environment.
  • Identify, manage, and communicate risks; lead action plans to mitigate potential impacts within your area and at points of connection with internal customers.
  • Lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) for assigned accounts, including development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of vendor performance.
  • Track market trends, economic indicators, financial metrics, and legal conditions to analyse current and projected price variances, estimate impacts, and implement mitigating actions.
  • Drive productivity and efficiency initiatives internally and with suppliers to deliver cost savings and reduce workload for the business.
  • Lead or participate in procurement-related projects.
  • Perform deep dives into key performance indicators, derive actionable insights, and present findings to stakeholders across the organisation.

This position manages all commercial aspects with LEGO suppliers to ensure timely supply of direct materials and services to LMV, meeting agreed quality levels with internal customers and stakeholders. Key challenges include aligning category needs and strategies with local and global processes, engaging suppliers for consistent performance, and continuously pursuing value-add.

Our goal is effective stakeholder management in a global team environment, fostering close collaboration with key partners. This role drives efficient local category management to boost productivity while



  • Enhancing compliance (securing best practices in contracts and processes)
  • Increasing value-add (addressing more spend, improving visibility/forecasting, and capturing productivity savings)
  • Strengthening partner delivery (being proactive and responsive)

Do You Have What It Takes




  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Business Management, preferably with a focus on Supply Chain, Legal, or Finance.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing procurement processes, with strong emphasis on direct materials/categories.
  • Proven participation in complex projects impacting the organisation, particularly in direct procurement and productivity initiatives.
  • Experience working in global and local collaboration environments.

Hard Skills




  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Strong procurement expertise, including category management, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), and negotiation.
  • Continuous improvement knowledge and application of tools/methodologies (e.g., Process Mapping, PDCA, problem-solving techniques).
  • Decision-making skills assessing situations, evaluating alternatives, and selecting optimal outcomes using analytical tools (e.g., RAID).
  • Stakeholder management ability to classify, map, and engage stakeholders for effective communication and relationship building.
  • Risk management proficiency in analytical risk assessment and contingency planning.
  • Prioritisation, goal-setting, and project management capabilities.
  • General knowledge of SAP, Coupa, and cost engineering principles.
  • Advanced Vietnamese and English proficiency (spoken and written).
