Job Description

Role Overview A leading global retailer is seeking a Store Design and Construction Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of its retail store network in Vietnam, covering new store development, renovations, and ongoing maintenance of existing stores.

The role spans feasibility, design, construction, handover, and continuous improvement, ensuring all stores consistently meet brand, safety, quality, and operational standards.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners in a collaborative, inclusive environment that values expertise, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

  • Manage end-to-end store design and construction projects from feasibility study to store opening and handover.
  • Lead refurbishment, upgrade, and maintenance projects for existing stores to ensure long-term asset quality and performance.
  • Oversee multiple concurrent projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Conduct regular site visits to identify risks, resolve issues, and ensure smooth execution.

Design, Standards & Compliance

  • Develop store layouts and design concepts aligned with brand standards and customer experience objectives.
  • Review architectural and construction drawings to ensure operational feasibility and consistency across the store network.
  • Ensure full compliance with local building codes, fire safety regulations, and global design and construction standards.

Cost, Quality & Stakeholder Management

  • Prepare cost estimates, manage budgets, and implement cost-control initiatives across new builds and maintenance works.
  • Coordinate bidding processes and manage relationships with consultants, contractors, landlords, and vendors.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Property, Finance, and other internal teams to prioritise maintenance needs and project delivery.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate documentation for all new store, renovation, and maintenance projects.
  • Provide regular progress, cost, and quality reports to management.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in retail store design, construction, and refurbishment project management.
  • Strong knowledge of building structures, MEP systems, and fire safety regulations.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and MS Office.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Customer- and brand-focused mindset with a practical, hands-on approach.
  • Willingness to travel frequently as required.
