Role Description The Staff Accountant at NEWTECH is a full-time, on-site role based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This role is responsible for recording daily financial transactions, preparing journal entries, reconciling bank and ledger accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records. The Staff Accountant will assist in preparing financial statements, support month-end and year-end closing activities, and help ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies. Day-to-day tasks include managing accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices and payments, tracking expenses, and supporting internal reporting for management. The role may also collaborate with other departments on budgeting, cost analysis, and audits, while identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and controls.

Qualifications

  • Foundational accounting skills, including general ledger management, journal entry preparation, and account reconciliations.
  • Competence in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, invoice handling, and expense tracking.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel) and the ability to work with financial data accurately.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills to support reporting, budgeting, and cost analysis.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
  • Knowledge of applicable accounting standards and local tax regulations in Vietnam is preferred.
  • Integrity, confidentiality in handling financial information, and readiness to work on-site in Ho Chi Minh City.
