Role Description We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design and build the services that power our products at scale. You'll own critical systems end-to-end — from architecture and APIs to performance, reliability, and security — and work shoulder-to-shoulder with Frontend, Mobile, DevOps, and Product to ship things that matter. What you'll do
- Design, build, and operate scalable backend services and APIs.
- Model and optimize data storage across SQL and NoSQL systems.
- Deploy and run services on AWS with an eye on cost, performance, and reliability.
- Partner across Frontend, Mobile, DevOps, and Product to deliver features end-to-end.
- Bake security into everything — from data handling to API design.
- Raise the bar through code reviews, technical design, and mentoring.
Must-have requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Go (primary), Rust or Java (optional).
- Strong SQL skills — schema design, query optimization, and data integrity.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying on AWS.
- Solid security fundamentals (secure coding, auth, data protection).
- Proven collaboration across teams (FE, Mobile, DevOps, Product) and a healthy, accountable team culture.
Nice to have
- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis, DynamoDB).
- Built or scaled large-scale products (1M+ concurrent users).
- A big-data mindset — comfort with high-volume data pipelines and analytics thinking.
