Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for NPI product engineering documentation support by creating, updating, and controlling technical documents/drawings using CAD and office tools in accordance with company documentation processes and ECO requirements.

Lead and manage documentation execution for assigned NPI requests by organizing priorities, coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders, and ensuring on-time delivery of accurate, compliant drawings and data entries in the document/MRP-ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Create new documents/drawings per request using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Update documents/drawings following the ECO process; verify changes versus original files before uploading to the document control system.
  • Create new part records and enter data into the document system; ensure Oracle (or assigned MRP/ERP) data accuracy.
  • Translate documents/drawings into Vietnamese upon request; support technical translation for other departments.
  • Support manufacturing by reviewing drawings to clarify mismatches and resolve documentation/drawing discrepancies.
  • Provide CAD files to Buyer/Purchasing as required to support sourcing activities.
  • Notify relevant stakeholders of new ECO releases and document changes.
  • Provide frequent status updates to Managers/Supervisors; support special projects and site activities (Safety, Fire, Health, Audits, Team building).

Education & Experience

  • Minimum experience:
    • 5+ years drafting experience with a degree in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), or
    • 2+ years of experience in a technical organization with college-level education.
  • Education:
    • Degree in Computer Aided Drafting or higher (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Experience in documentation control and technical drawing creation/interpretation required.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) is a plus.
  • Technical translation experience is a plus.
Skills

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD; capable of reading and creating technical drawings.
  • Strong working knowledge of documentation practices and ECO-controlled change processes.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and email.
  • Strong typing and data entry skills with close attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet established timelines.
  • Ability to work on new concepts and translate them into actionable plans/deliverables.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and cross-functional teamwork capabilities.
  • Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp. and establish productive internal relationships.

Working Conditions

  • Works in a standard office environment with regular interaction/support for manufacturing and laboratory areas.
  • Mental/visual demands include the ability to manage stress, think proactively, demonstrate strong initiative, and adapt to changes.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform standard office work requiring prolonged computer use, visual focus on technical drawings, and routine document handling.
  • Ability to move between office and manufacturing/lab areas as required.

Safety Requirements

  • All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards.

  • Report quality high-risk events to supervisors.

Quality And Environmental Responsibilities

  • Ensure new or updated drawings/documents meet requirements and follow documentation processes.
  • Depending on location, this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
