Brief
Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, cost control, hygiene, staff training, and compliance with hotel standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in managing the entire kitchen operation.
- Ensure food quality, hygiene, presentation, and cost control.
- Supervise the preparation and cooking of dishes in all kitchen areas.
- Ensure dishes are prepared according to recipes and hotel standards.
- Monitor food costs, inventory, and kitchen performance.
- Create work schedules, assign tasks, and manage daily kitchen activities.
- Train and guide staff to maintain high work efficiency.
- Inspect kitchen hygiene and safety, ensuring equipment is used properly.
- Assist in inventory checks and explain any discrepancies.
- Coordinate with other departments such as Food & Beverage, Stewarding, and Purchasing.
- Lead by example in conduct, hygiene, and team spirit.
- Contribute to menu proposals, creativity, and development.
- Manage staff, promote teamwork, and supervise discipline and behavior.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, occupational safety, and environmental standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar position with good kitchen management skills.
- Proficient in computer use.
- Culinary certification; knowledgeable about modern culinary trends.
- Able to work under pressure, solve problems, and handle complaints effectively.
- Maintain a professional attitude when working with colleagues and superiors.
