Your Job
As a Direct Sourcing Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing sourcing activities that support both divisional and plant objectives. You will partner closely with internal teams and suppliers to secure materials, improve sourcing efficiency, and ensure operational alignment with business goals. This role is essential in driving category strategies, optimizing cost structures, and supporting new supplier development.
Our Team
You will be part of the DSS Regional Category Management organization, collaborating with local and regional stakeholders. The team works crossfunctionally with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and quality groups to ensure highperformance sourcing execution. What You Will Do
- Initiate and execute sourcing requirements for the division and the plant, supporting business needs.
- Collaborate with Category Management and plant teams on sourcing objectives and strategies.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure their purchasing requirements are supported effectively.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies related to new materials.
- Conduct regular supplier meetings to monitor market trends and external changes.
- Participate in supplier assessment, recommendation, review, onboarding, and audit activities.
- Support New Product Development (NPD) and transfer projects by identifying and sourcing new suppliers when needed.
- Drive costsaving initiatives and optimize Total Cost of Ownership.
- Manage the annual supplier scorecard process and performance evaluation.
- Analyze buying patterns and supplier data to consolidate and manage spend on direct materials.
- Identify opportunities to improve sourcing processes and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure alignment with PBM Guiding Principles, TQM, ISO, EH&S, and Social Responsibility requirements.
- Perform other sourcingrelated tasks as assigned by the Regional Category Manager.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Electronics, Mechanical, or related).
- Minimum 1 year of experience in sourcing, procurement, engineering, or related technical functions.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and sourcing/purchasing procedures.
- Proficient in problemsolving, planning, and communication in English (oral and written).
- Ability to work with procedures, standards, and process documentation.
What Will Put You Ahead
- 2+ years of experience in sourcing, supply chain, or supplier management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and supplier performance metrics.
- Good understanding of contract agreements and supplier relationship management.
- Experience with ISO, CSR, RBA, or other compliance frameworks.
- Kaizen or innovation skills contributing to process optimization.
