Project Overview

Our client, a technology company based in Ho Chi Minh City, is hiring for a large-scale cloud migration project moving infrastructure from VMware to OpenStack (OSP). The project covers infrastructure design, container/microservices migration, and database migration, executed in waves with strict cut-over and rollback procedures. All roles require hands-on enterprise-scale experience, on-call availability during Cut-over/Hypercare, and strong documentation/handover skills for the client's Day-2 Ops team.

Role 1: Solution Architect | 03 headcount · On-site HCMC (wave-based) + remote documentation

Owns the end-to-end migration solution design from VMware to OpenStack, approves all key technical decisions, and ensures solution consistency across waves.

Key Responsibilities

•     Build assessment templates/surveys; analyze current VMware infrastructure (RVTools/vCenter), dependency mapping, and group applications into App Move Groups.

•     Select migration strategy per workload (Rehost / Replatform / Retire) and design HLD/LLD: OSP landing zone, network routing, security zoning.

•     Develop Migration Playbook, Risk Management plan, Cut-over Runbook, and Rollback Plan per wave; resolve complex technical issues during execution.

•     Produce As-built documentation, SOPs, and lead knowledge transfer to the client's Day-2 Ops team.

Requirements

•     Minimum 7 years in IT infrastructure, including 3+ years in Cloud Architecture.

•     Hands-on enterprise-scale experience with OpenStack or equivalent cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP).

•     Experience designing large-scale migrations; Retail/POS systems background a plus.

•     Able to work independently, make technical decisions, and communicate clearly across stakeholders.

Role 2: DevOps / Kubernetes Engineer | 03 headcount · Senior

Migrates all container/microservices workloads from VMware to a managed Kubernetes engine on OpenStack, re-configures CI/CD pipelines, and ensures service continuity through and after Cut-over.

Key Responsibilities

•     Assess current container/microservices workloads (Docker images, Helm charts, configs) and re-point CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD) to the new OSP environment.

•     Deploy Helm charts/K8s manifests to the managed K8s cluster; update microservices connectivity (ConfigMaps, Secrets, Service Discovery) to new endpoints.

•     Set up monitoring/logging (Prometheus + Grafana + ELK); run end-to-end testing (health checks, smoke/load tests) after each wave.

•     On-call support during Hypercare (2 weeks post go-live); document K8s runbooks and new CI/CD guides for the client's DevOps team.

Requirements

•     Minimum 5 years hands-on Kubernetes experience: deployment, scaling, production troubleshooting.

•     Proficient in Helm, kubectl, kustomize; experienced writing/editing Helm charts; familiar with Harbor.

•     Working knowledge of Service Mesh (Istio/Linkerd), API Gateway, and Monitoring/Observability (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).

•     Willing to be on-call outside business hours during Cut-over/Hypercare.

Role 3: Database Migration Expert (DBA) | 02 headcount · Senior

Owns the strategy and execution of database migration from VMware to a managed database service/DB cluster on OpenStack, meeting committed RPO/RTO SLAs.

Key Responsibilities

•     Assess current DBs (type, version, size, structure, read/write load, dependencies); design CDC or Replication sync strategy.

•     Set up and test CDC/Replication from source (VMware) to new DB on OSP; execute Cut-over per playbook (stop write → sync final delta → switch connection string → verify).

•     Set up reverse replication (OSP → VMware) post-cutover for rollback safety; run data integrity checks after each wave.

•     Ensure RPO ≤ 1 hour and RTO ≤ 4 hours for critical DBs; tune performance (index, query, buffer pool); on-call during Hypercare and document Day-2 Ops SOPs.

Requirements

•     Minimum 5 years DBA experience with MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, OpenSearch/ELK, Redis, Kafka, Timescale.

•     Hands-on experience with CDC tools (Debezium, AWS DMS, Oracle GoldenGate or equivalent).

•     Understanding of cloud DBaaS (RDS, CloudSQL, Trove OpenStack, etc.) and performance tuning/capacity planning in cloud environments.

•     Knowledge of High Availability: Replication, Failover, PITR, Backup/Restore; strong technical documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
