Role Overview
The Manual & Automation Tester will be responsible for end‑to‑end testing of Insurance Claims platforms, covering manual functional testing and automation test development/execution across core claims workflows and market‑specific customizations.
The role supports multi‑market rollouts, regression testing, and automation at scale to ensure quality, compliance, and stability of claims processing systems.
Key Responsibilities
Manual Testing Responsibilities
- Understand Claims business processes including FNOL, adjudication, approvals, payments, recoveries, and closures.
- Review business requirements, user stories, and functional specifications for claims enhancements and releases.
- Design and execute manual test cases covering:
- Claims intake and workflow processing
- Benefit calculations and validations
- Policy, coverage, and eligibility checks
- Claims Workbench and user role validations
- Integration touchpoints (policy admin, payments, document management)
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and UAT support testing.
- Execute market‑specific customization testing (e.g., language, regulatory, product variations).
- Log, track, and retest defects using standard defect management tools.
- Support business users during UAT and provide test evidence/sign‑off support.
Automation Testing Responsibilities
- Contribute to automation strategy and test coverage for the Claims platform.
- Develop and maintain automation test scripts for core claims workflows and reusable components.
- Execute automated regression suites and analyze test results.
- Ensure reusability and maintainability of automation assets for multi‑market adoption.
- Support automation framework enhancements and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with manual testers to identify automation‑ready scenarios and reduce manual effort.
- Participate in CI/CD‑aligned test execution where applicable.
Required Skills & Experience
Functional & Domain Skills
- Strong understanding of Insurance Claims domain (Life, Health, Employee Benefits preferred).
- Experience testing Claims platforms / Claims Workbench / BPM‑based systems.
- Hands‑on experience with end‑to‑end claims lifecycle testing.
- Exposure to multi‑market or regional rollouts is an advantage.
Testing Skills
- Solid experience in manual testing: test case design, execution, defect management.
- Experience in automation testing (UI and/or regression automation).
- Knowledge of test design techniques and regression strategies.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery models.
Automation & Tools (generic, tool‑agnostic)
- Experience with test automation tools/frameworks (any modern UI or regression automation tool).
- Understanding of automation framework concepts (reusability, data‑driven testing, maintenance).
- Exposure to test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, ALM or equivalent).
Soft Skills & Ways of Working
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work closely with business users, BAs, developers, and test managers.
- Good communication skills for defect triage and status reporting.
- Comfortable working in distributed / offshore‑onshore team models.
- Proactive mindset with focus on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- 3–8 years of testing experience (manual + automation mix).
- Insurance domain experience is highly preferred.
Nice to Have
- Experience in claims transformation programs or core system modernization.
- Exposure to automation scaling across multiple markets.
- Experience supporting regulatory or audit‑driven testing in insurance.
