We are seeking an accomplished Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in building and scaling a high-impact Legal Tech product. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong people leadership, offering the opportunity to influence both product direction and engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team across frontend, backend, and full-stack disciplines.
  • Own technical decision-making, system architecture, and engineering standards to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Remain hands-on when required, particularly within your core expertise (React, Node.js, etc).
  • Partner closely with Product, Design, and Australia-based stakeholders to deliver customer-focused product outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, including code quality, CI/CD, and agile delivery.
  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and collaboration within the engineering team.

Must have:

Technical Excellence

  • Strong engineering foundation with deep expertise in Node.js, and Python, React
  • Demonstrated mastery in at least one core technology depth and quality over breadth.
  • Background in product-led companies, preferably top-tier or international environments.
  • Solid experience in system design and scalable architecture.

Leadership & Management

  • At least 10 years in software development, including min 5 years working as Engineering Manager or other relevant positions.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage engineering teams effectively in fast-moving product environments.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with a focus on developing talent and team performance.
  • High ownership mindset with the confidence to make decisions and drive execution.

Communication

  • Fluent English, with the ability to communicate clearly with global stakeholders.
  • Professional, direct, and constructive communication style.
