We are looking for a software developer responsible for building Java applications. This includes anything between complex groups of back-end services and their client-end (desktop and mobile) counterparts. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop these applications and to coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Thus, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and product quality is essential.
Job Responsibilities
- Translate application storyboards and use cases into a functional application
- Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation
- Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review
- Directly report to the Project Manager/Team lead on daily assignments
Job Requirement
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Up to 3 years of experience in software development
- Proficiency in at least one programming language: Java, C#, or .NET
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), software design principles, and data structures & algorithm
- Experience with RESTful APIs, relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, etc.), and software development lifecycles
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and build tools
- Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus
- Willingness to learn the C programming language and as required by the project
- Japanese language proficiency at JLPT N3 level or above, with the ability to communicate effectively with Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment
