About the Role

As a Backend Engineer at HealthBridge AI, you will work as an individual contributor responsible for implementing well-defined backend features with high code quality. This role is best suited for a juniormid to mid-level engineer who can carefully execute specified requirements, write reliable and maintainable code, and become fully productive within the first month. You will focus on backend API development, microservices, database integration, and cloud deployment, working closely with the founder for technical guidance.

Key Responsibilities

Implement backend APIs (CRUD, authentication, business logic) based on defined requirements

Develop and maintain microservices and service-to-service communication

Design and work with data models and databases (relational and NoSQL)

Deploy and operate backend services in a cloud environment using containerization

Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines and engineering workflows

Support backend integration with AI-enabled components

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field, with 24 years of backend engineering experience

Strong coding experience in one or more languages such as Python, TypeScript, Go, Java, or similar

Experience building production APIs and microservices

Hands-on experience with containerization, cloud deployment, and CI/CD workflows

Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases and caching systems

Strong attention to detail and commitment to high code quality, testing, and correctness

Nice to Have

Exposure to AI development or AI-enabled products

Experience building healthcare or clinical workflow software

Familiarity with FHIR standards and healthcare interoperability

Basic understanding of HIPAA requirements and healthcare data privacy/security practices
