- The business is currently in an early growth stage with a small founding team, and they are now looking to bring on their first dedicated marketing and content specialist to help build their digital presence and support event growth.
About the Role
- Our client is seeking a Marketing & Social Media Content Specialist to support the growth of their digital presence, with LinkedIn as the primary channel.
- This role will focus initially on hands-on content creation and social media management, with the opportunity to expand into more strategic marketing initiatives and campaign ownership as the business grows.
- The successful candidate will work closely with the leadership team to transform event insights, speaker content, and industry knowledge into engaging social content that increases brand awareness and drives event registrations.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation
- Develop LinkedIn-firstcontent including posts, carousels, short videos, speaker announcements, sponsor highlights, and event promotions.
- Translate leadership and speaker insights into engaging copy and simple visual assets using tools such as Canva.
- Assist in creating content that showcases industry insights, trends, and thought leadership.
Content Planning
- Create and manage a monthly content calendar aligned with event milestones such as speaker announcements, sponsor highlights, ticket promotions, and industry commentary.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice across social channels.
Social Media Publishing
- Schedule and publish content across LinkedIn and other relevant social platforms.
- Ensure a consistent posting cadence and support the promotion of upcoming events and initiatives.
- Use marketing tools such as HubSpot or similar platforms to support content scheduling and distribution.
Community Engagement
- Monitor comments and messages across social platforms.
- Engage with the broader B2B eCommerce community, supporting discussions around events, speakers, sponsors, and industry insights.
Reporting & Optimisation
- Track performance metrics including engagement, follower growth, and post performance.
- Provide monthly reports and recommendations to improve reach, engagement, and conversions such as event registrations and lead generation.
Requirements
Must Have
- 3+ years of experience in social media management or content marketing.
- Strong written English and confidence writing professional content for LinkedIn.
- Experience creating social media content, including copywriting and basic graphic design.
- Ability to manage and maintain a content calendar.
- Familiarity with marketing or scheduling tools such as HubSpot, Hootsuite, Buffer, or similar platforms.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a distributed global team.
- Strong sense of ownership, organisation, and accountability.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in B2B marketing, events, SaaS, professional services, or eCommerce industries.
- Basic video editing skills for short-form content.
- Experience supporting event marketing or conference promotion.
