POSITION INFORMATION
This position will be a key member of the Surface Mounting Technology (SMT) Team. As a member of this team, you will be in charge of all activities in the SMT process to supply Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA) to other processes to create Datalogic products.
SMT Engineer will manage 4Ms (MAN, MACHINE, METARIALS, METHOD) to assembly PCBAs in an effective way that meets the production demand and complies with all related standards as well as laws/regulations
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare detailed SMT production plans according to the production planner's schedule
- Prepare relevant reports, carry out actions to meet KPIs.
- Manage SMT manpower (technician/operators).
- Coordinate with stencil supplier to buy stencil on time per production plan.
- Do the install, relocate, set-up, program, operate and monitor manufacturing equipment for various product applications as required.
- Prepare programs for solder paste printers, SPI machines, mounters, ovens and wave soldering machines.
- Prepare technical reports including, but not limited to, machine performance, product yield, line improvement.
- Train technicians and/or operators about operation, maintenance and production processes.
- Create and modify the engineering documentation for released products.
- Create, update, apply equipment operating procedures, product method sheets
- Involved in the design, fabrication/ordering, and selection of the most appropriate and cost-effective manufacturing engineering (tools/jigs, machines) to support the manufacturing process.
- Suggest product design improvement for ease of manufacturing.
- Implement program of continuous improvement resulting in reducing cycles & increasing productivity.
- Provides work assistance to the engineers and managers group to achieve the department's goal
- Analyze product defects, carry out corrective and preventive actions to maintain high quality.
- Coordinate with contractors for effective services to minimize down time.
- Perform advanced maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Take part in assigned projects.
- Take part in training courses to be auditee and auditor of standards required.
- Update new technologies, processes, products to apply for better productivity/higher quality/lower cost.
- Buy and manage spare parts.
- Establish and execute effective maintenance system for in charge equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics/Mechanics/Electronics
- Language: Fluent in English; written and verbal communication, pass the technical English test
- Experience: 23 years experience in PCBA manufacturing field or related area
- Other skills:
- Capable of developing apps for related works.
- Capable of PC hardware repair and software installation as well as using backup tools (Norton Ghost, Acronis, hard disk utilities).
- Good background of manufacturing equipment.
- Results orientation, interpersonal characteristic, sense of urgency
