Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled, dedicated Junior Associate Accountant to join our team and play a pivotal role in delivering full-cycle accounting, payroll, and tax-compliance services to our clients while overseeing internal accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Client Accounting Onboarding and Setup
  • Prepare checklists and receive, review and organize accounting records, supporting documents, books and accounting data from clients.
  • Advise clients on necessary supplementary documents, adjustments or reconstruction of accounting books where required.
  • For newly established clients, carry out initial accounting and tax setup, including tax registration, bank accounts, e-invoices, digital signatures, accounting software and social insurance registration.
  • Establish opening balances, accounting books and initial accounting data for ongoing accounting operations.

2. Accounting Documents, Invoicing and Bookkeeping

  • Receive, review, classify and process accounting documents and invoices provided by clients.
  • Advise clients on supplementary or corrective actions for incomplete or inappropriate supporting documents.
  • Prepare, issue, adjust and manage electronic invoices.
  • Record accounting transactions relating to revenue, expenses, cash, bank accounts, receivables, payables, fixed assets and other relevant accounting matters.
  • Perform periodic bank, receivable, payable and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain complete and properly organized accounting records, supporting documents and books.

3. Tax Compliance and Filing

  • Prepare, review and submit periodic tax filings, including VAT, CIT, PIT, FCT and other applicable tax obligations.
  • Monitor filing deadlines, tax payment schedules and other compliance obligations to ensure timely completion.
  • Advise clients on tax obligations and tax matters arising during their operations.
  • Support clients during tax inspections, examinations and tax finalization procedures.

4. Payroll, PIT and Social Insurance

  • Perform periodic payroll calculations and prepare payslips for clients.
  • Calculate PIT and mandatory insurance contributions relating to employees.
  • Handle social insurance registration, amendments and employee increase/decrease procedures.
  • Carry out employee tax code registration and other PIT-related procedures.
  • Prepare annual PIT finalization files.

5. Period-End Closing and Accounting Reporting

  • Perform reconciliations and review accounting data prior to periodic closing.
  • Prepare trial balances and other accounting reports as required.
  • Prepare income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and other relevant financial reports.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly and annual accounting closing within the assigned scope of work.
  • Identify and promptly report accounting discrepancies, tax exposures and other relevant risks.

6. Accounting and Tax Projects

  • Participate in specialized accounting and tax projects for clients, including:
  • VAT refund applications.
  • Tax incentive applications.
  • Accounting and tax compliance reviews.
  • Tax code reactivation.
  • Tax finalization and tax code closure.
  • Company liquidation and dissolution.
  • Other accounting and tax projects as assigned.

7. Client Account Management and Coordination

  • Monitor work progress, deadlines and the status of assigned client accounts.
  • Proactively follow up with clients for required documents and information.
  • Communicate with clients regarding accounting, tax and documentation matters within the assigned scope.
  • Coordinate with the Legal Team and other relevant teams on matters involving legal, employment, investment or corporate issues.
  • Comply with Henrison Law's quality control, confidentiality and document management procedures.

8. Internal Accounting Support for Henrison Law

  • Support the management of sales invoices, payment files and internal accounting documents of the Firm.
  • Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable and payment schedules.
  • Support payment planning, cash flow monitoring and operating expense control.
  • Review internal accounting transactions as assigned and promptly identify and propose solutions for accounting errors or discrepancies.

Candidate Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance or a related field.
  2. At least 02 years of practical experience in accounting services and/or tax.
  3. Hands-on experience in accounting and tax matters for corporate clients; experience in the following areas is preferred: Foreign-invested enterprises; Household businesses; F&B; Trading; Services and IT; E-commerce.
  4. Good knowledge of Vietnamese accounting standards, accounting regulations and tax laws.
  5. Ability to independently handle fundamental accounting operations, tax filings and accounting records.
  6. Proficiency or practical experience with: Accounting software; Electronic invoicing systems; Digital signatures; Tax filing and social insurance portals.
  7. Strong ability to review accounting data, identify discrepancies and resolve issues systematically.
  8. High level of integrity, attention to detail, accountability and awareness of client confidentiality.
  9. Good communication and client service skills, with the ability to communicate work-related matters clearly and professionally.
  10. Good English reading and communication skills are an advantage, particularly when working with international clients.
  11. Willingness to travel or work at client premises or government authorities when required.
