As a Senior VFD Sales Engineer, you will drive revenue growth for Sumitomo Drive Technologies Vietnam's Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) sales portfolio. You will identify and penetrate industrial sectors and manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation and technical consultation to negotiation and closing.
Responsibilities
- Sales Execution: Drive technical sales for the market stationed at HCMC to meet or exceed targets.
- Client Management: Prospect new customers and maintain strong relationships with existing accounts.
- System Design & Support: Manage commissioning, troubleshooting, and sizing; expert knowledge of torque, speed, and load characteristics across various applications, especially VFDs.
- PLC Integration: Proficient with major brands (Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley); able to interface VFDs with PLCs and manage basic logic control.
- Industrial Automation: Thorough understanding of sensors, relays, timers, HMI, and system architecture/control panel integration.
- Circuitry: Proficient in reading wiring diagrams and understanding motor control fundamentals/protection devices.
Requirements
- Industry Knowledge or Experience with competing brands (Schneider, Siemens, ABB, Delta, Danfoss) is a plus
- Strong customer-facing skills, Self-driven, independent
- Strong negotiation and presentation abilities.
- Comfortable working with cross-border teams (e.g., Singapore HQ, regional partners)
- Willingness to travel (customer site visits, training, exhibitions)
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
- Technical Sales: 35 years of experience in VFDs or control systems. Background in power transmission or automation preferred.
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Industrial Automation
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with VFDs, general machinery and industrial applications.
- Vietnamese and English: Professional proficiency (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing).
