What You'll Do
You'll focus on collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring taxation compliances and reporting, enhancing transfer pricing documentation, liasioning with taxation authorities, integrating taxation with accounting and finance, simplifying taxation law for internal stakeholders.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is responsible, accountable and ready to Own this role. Someone ideally with experience and knowledge of Vietnamese taxation laws. Able to adapt to emerging taxation rules, you are a self-starter who can efficiently communicate connecting technical and non-technical stakeholders. Able to work under pressure and tigh-deadlines, manage multiple tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare and submit periodic tax returns (monthly / quarterly / annual) for relevant taxes: VAT, CIT (corporate income tax), PIT (personal income tax, if relevant), FCT / WHT / withholding tax, and any other applicable taxes under Vietnamese law.
- Perform VAT input/output reconciliation, CIT computation (including provisional and final), withholding tax calculations, and other tax-related calculations.
- Ensure timely payment and remittance of all tax obligations according to statutory deadlines.
- Maintain and archive all tax-related documentation, invoices, and supporting records in line with regulatory and company requirements.
- Review business transactions (revenues, expenses, intercompany, related party) to ensure tax compliance and identify potential tax optimization / incentives.
- Provide advice to management or relevant departments on tax implications of business activities, structuring, and transactions.
- Stay updated on changes in Vietnamese tax laws/regulations and advise on required adjustments.
Transfer Pricing:
- Prepare Transfer Pricing Documentation (Local File / Comparability Analyses) according to Decree 132.
- Collect, validate, and reconcile data for Inter-Company transactions, Master File, or other group reporting requirements (if applicable).
- Review related-party transactions to ensure arm's-length pricing and compliance.
Liaison with Tax Authorities and Consultants:
- Act as point of contact for tax authorities: prepare documentation, respond to queries, support audits or inspections.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and internal audit teams when required; supply required documents and explanations.
Accounting & Finance Integration:
- Review and verify accounting data (revenues, expenses, general ledger entries) for tax purposes to ensure consistency between accounting records and tax computations.
- Assist with month-end / quarter-end / year-end closing, ensuring tax provisions and accruals are correctly made. Completion of tax reporting in reporting system
- Support preparation of financial statements and management reports when needed (especially where tax and accounting overlap)
Other ad-hoc tasks:
- Prepare internal tax memos, summaries or briefings for management on tax regulation changes, audit outcomes, and tax planning matters.
- Identify areas of tax risk, potential non-compliance, or exposure. Propose and implement internal control improvements, tax compliance processes, and documentation procedures.
- Ensure that all tax filings, payments, and documentation adhere to both Vietnamese regulations and internal company policies.
You'll also need:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Minimum 6 years of experience in tax accounting / tax compliance in Vietnam experience with corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, etc.
- Strong knowledge of Vietnamese tax laws and regulations, and familiarity with tax filing processes (returns, payments, declarations)
