Main Duties:
We are looking for a driven, sharp, and execution-focused Senior Specialist to be the analytical backbone of our Strategy & Planning function. You will own the numbers, track performance across every business unit, keep the planning engine running, and support the CEO's team withinsights that matter. This is not a passive reporting role — we expect you to challenge data, surface problems early, and push for answers.
Responsibilities:
Business Performance Management
- Own daily performance tracking across all 8 business units — Transport, Food, Deli, BD, Marketing, DGs, and Blending — monitoring GMV, CM1, etc. and unit economics against plan.
- Build and maintain live performance dashboards (Google Spreadsheet, Power BI / SQL) that give leadership instant visibility into business health, anomalies, and trends.
- Proactively flag variances, investigate root causes, and prepare concise analysis with clear so-what — not just charts, but actionable insights.
- Partner with Commercial and Finance teams to ensure a single source of truth for all business metrics across functions.
- Develop business insight frameworks that enable the company to move from reactive reporting to forward-looking performance management.
Budgeting, Planning & KPI Management
- Drive the operational engine of the annual planning and quarterly reforecasting cycles — consolidating inputs from all BUs, maintaining the Company Master Plan, and tracking budget vs. actuals rigorously.
- Co-design the company-wide KPI framework: define metrics, set targets with each function, and keep scorecards current and meaningful throughout the year.
- Build scenario planning models and sensitivity analyses that help leadership quickly assess strategic trade-offs under different business conditions.
- Ensure every planning file shared with C-level executives is accurate, clearly structured, and decision-ready — zero tolerance for data errors.
- Continuously improve planning templates, tools, and processes to reduce cycle time and increase output quality.
Project Coordination
- Serve as the project coordinator for strategic and cross-functional initiatives — maintaining a master tracker of all active projects, timelines, milestones, and owners.
- Hold functions accountable: chase updates, escalate blockers, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks between departments.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly strategy execution review materials for the CEO and Board — clear, structured, and always on time.
- Facilitate cross-functional working sessions, capture decisions and action items, and follow up until closure.
Strategy Support
- Conduct market, competitive, and industry research to support mid-term strategic planning, new initiatives, and ad-hoc requests from the CEO's office.
- Structure strategic analyses — business case development, prioritization frameworks, cost-benefit models — with clear logic and executive-ready output.
- Prepare high-quality strategy decks and briefing materials for C-suite and Board presentations.
- Act as a reliable thought partner to the Senior Manager — bring ideas, question assumptions, and contribute to shaping the company's strategic direction.
Requirements:
What You Must Have
- >5 years of hands-on experience in FP&A, Business Planning, Strategy, Business Analysis, or Management Consulting — you have done the work, not just supported it.
- Experience in financial modelling with P&L ownership exposure — you know how cost and revenue decisions interact at a business level.
- Advanced SQL skills: you can independently extract, join, and manipulate large datasets without needing a data engineer to hold your hand.
- Expert-level spreadsheet modelling (Excel / Google Sheets): financial models, scenario tables, dynamic dashboards — fast and accurate.
- Power BI or equivalent BI tool proficiency: you can build a dashboard from scratch and make it genuinely useful for decision-makers.
- Strong understanding of business performance metrics, unit economics, and KPI frameworks — ideally from an eCommerce, tech, or platform environment (Grab, Gojek, Shopee, or similar is a plus).
- Commercial acumen: you understand how a business makes money and can connect data to strategic implications, not just report numbers.
- Structured communicator in both Vietnamese and English — you can translate complex analysis into clear, concise executive narratives.
- High ownership mindset: you deliver on time, you follow through, and you do not wait to be told twice.
What Will Set You Apart
- Python skills for data automation, processing pipelines, or scripting repetitive analytical tasks.
- Background in ride-hailing, on-demand delivery, eCommerce, or high-growth tech — you already speak the language of the business.
- You have built something from scratch: a tracking system, a reporting framework, a planning process — and it actually got used.
