Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and Experienced Application Engineer to join our System Solution Team. In this role, you will work at the intersection of hardware and software, developing, integrating, and supporting automotivereal‑time control solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Embedded Software Development
- Perform Board bring‑up, debugging, and validation on RH850‑based hardware platforms.
- Work with GTM Timers, Renesas Timer IPs , DAC/Comparators, Peripheral Interconnect (PIC), ADC, CAN and other hardware peripherals.
- Develop PWM‑based control logic, including duty control, synchronization, and timing constraints.
- Design, implement, and validate FOC/ PI / PID‑based control algorithms for real‑time embedded solutions on Renesas RH850 MCUs.
- Analyze and resolve control, timing, and integration issues spanning software and hardware.
- Support global solution teams and sales teams with technical guidance and demonstration.
Required Hardware Interface Knowledge:
- A successful candidate must demonstrate the following:
- Experience working with Board Bring Up, Hardware Abstraction Layers (HAL) and low‑level drivers on automotive MCUs.
- Solid understanding of feedback signals (e.g., position, angle, phase, voltage, or current) and their role in closed‑loop control systems.
- Strong knowledge of PWM‑based control and modulation techniques, including timing, duty cycle, dead‑time, phase shift/frequency control, and synchronization mechanisms (e.g., PLL‑based or timer‑based alignment).
- Understanding of how control outputs interact with external switching devices (e.g., FETs) through MCU peripherals.
- Ability to correlate control algorithms, MCU peripherals, and real hardware behavior during debugging and validation.
Must‑Have Skills:
Technical (Required):
- Strong experience in embedded C/C++ for real‑time systems.
- Practical knowledge of PI / PID control theory and tuning.
- Hands‑on experience with ADC, PWM, Timers, and interrupt handling.
- Understanding of feedback concepts and closed‑loop control integration.
- Experience working with low‑level MCU drivers.
- Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or hardware debug tools.
- Ability to debug across software and hardware boundaries.
- Familiarity with automotive solutions such as On‑Board Chargers (OBC), AC‑DC and DC‑DC converters, xEV inverters, and Braking Systems (Preferred)
- Knowledge of Functional Safety standards ISO 26262.
