As Senior Staff Accountant, you will own core accounting operations and financial compliance, ensuring accuracy, audit readiness, and alignment with both local statutory requirements and global standards.
You will partner directly with the Global Corporate Controller to help build a scalable, well-governed finance function, supporting Safetrust's continued growth. Role Overview
Safetrust is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to manage core accounting and financial operations in Vietnam. You will be responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, general ledger accounting, month-end close, inventory tracking, and tax compliance - ensuring full alignment with Vietnam Accounting Standards (VAS), IFRS, and US GAAP.
You will serve as a cross-trained resource and backup for Vietnam payroll processing, supporting continuity and compliance without owning the payroll function day-to-day. This role also supports the ongoing transition from manual processes to scalable global finance systems including MISA and NetSuite.
What You'll Do
General Accounting & Monthly Financial Operations
- Prepare and post journal entries accurately and on schedule
- Own month-end close activities including reconciliations, accruals, and close schedules
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports aligned with VAS, IFRS, and US GAAP
- Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready financial records at all times
- Support external auditors during statutory audits—providing schedules, reconciliations, and documentation as required
- Liaise with auditors to resolve queries and ensure smooth audit completion
Tax & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all Vietnam tax regulations including VAT, Personal Income Tax (PIT), and Corporate Income Tax (CIT)
- Prepare and submit tax filings accurately and on time
- Serve as a point of contact for tax authority inquiries and inspections
- Represent the company in dealings with tax authorities, including preparing supporting documentation and responses
- Maintain organized records to support tax audits and regulatory inspections
- Monitor changes in Vietnam tax law and flag implications to the Global Corporate Controller
Payroll - Cross-Training & Backup Support
- Cross-train on Vietnam payroll processes to serve as a knowledgeable resource and backup
- Develop working knowledge of payroll calculations including salaries, allowances, overtime, bonuses, and statutory deductions (PIT, SI, HI, UI)
- Provide backup payroll processing support during absences or peak periods
- Maintain familiarity with payroll reporting and reconciliation workflows
- Support labor audits and statutory payroll reporting as needed
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Process and validate vendor invoices against approvals and purchase orders
- Ensure VAT compliance and accurate supporting documentation for all payables
- Manage payment schedules and vendor account reconciliations
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and maintain strong vendor relationships
Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Issue invoices in compliance with local regulations
- Monitor outstanding receivables and proactively follow up on overdue balances
- Apply incoming payments and reconcile AR accounts
- Support collections process and maintain aging analysis reports
Inventory Accounting & Tracking
- Maintain accurate inventory balances in the accounting system
- Track inventory on hand and reconcile physical counts against system records
- Process inventory adjustments, write-offs, and movements in the general ledger
- Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to ensure inventory accuracy
- Support stock reconciliation and inventory reporting for management and audit purposes
COMINGH Reporting & Documentation
- Work with COMINGH on required financial reporting and documentation
- Prepare and submit reports in accordance with COMINGH requirements and timelines
- Maintain organized documentation to support COMINGH compliance and reporting obligations
- Coordinate internally to ensure data accuracy in all COMINGH submissions
Systems & Process Improvement
- Work primarily in MISA for day-to-day accounting operations (required)
- Utilize or develop working knowledge of NetSuite to support global reporting and cross-system workflows
- Support implementation and transition to global finance and payroll platforms
- Document current accounting processes and identify opportunities for improvement
- Participate in system testing, data validation, and process migration activities
- Collaborate with HR and global Finance teams to ensure accurate, consistent data flow
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–6 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, electronics, EPE, or inventory-driven environments
- Solid experience preparing monthly financial statements and managing full-cycle month-end close
- Proven experience working with external auditors and tax authorities, including audit support and tax inspections
- Strong, clear understanding of Vietnam Accounting Standards (VAS), IFRS, and US GAAP—and the ability to apply and explain the differences
- Hands-on experience preparing and posting journal entries
- Experience handling full-cycle accounting: AP, AR, general ledger, reconciliations, and close
- Familiarity with inventory accounting including balance tracking, stock reconciliation, and inventory adjustments
- Working knowledge of Vietnam tax regulations (PIT, VAT, CIT, SI/HI/UI) and statutory filing requirements
- Experience with payroll processes in Vietnam (for cross-training and backup purposes)
- Proficient in MISA (required)
- Familiar with NetSuite or demonstrated ability to learn and work in ERP systems
- Fluent Vietnamese and English communication skills
