Job Description

ORBITAL RANK is a results-driven SEO agency specializing in building and scaling content-driven websites across diverse industries. By leveraging scalable content systems and robust domain infrastructure, we turn websites into high-value digital assets that drive sustainable organic growth.

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior SEO Manager to lead the entire SEO strategy for our in-house products, including news portals, content sites, review platforms, and large-scale publishing websites. This role is responsible for driving organic growth, scaling high-traffic websites, optimizing content production, and building an 'SEO-first culture across the company.

Responsibilities

A. SEO Strategy for Content & Publishing Products

  • Build, own, and execute the SEO strategy for all in-house content products (news, blogs, review sites, portals).
  • Plan long-term SEO growth for organic traffic, Discover traffic, and trending/topic clusters.
  • Develop SEO roadmaps aligned with content production, editorial cycles, and product development.
  • Ensure consistency in site structure, taxonomy, tagging, and content hierarchy across all properties.

B. Multi-site & Multi-niche SEO Management

  • Oversee SEO performance across multiple brands, verticals, and markets.
  • Build scalable SEO templates and frameworks that apply across different website types.
  • Consolidate best practices for on-page/off-page, technical, and content optimization.

C. Content Strategy & Editorial SEO

  • Work closely with the Content/Editorial team to guide topic selection, content calendar, and keyword mapping.
  • Establish guidelines for E-E-A-T, content depth, fact-checking, and search intent alignment.
  • Build frameworks for long-form, news content, review content, and evergreen content.

D. Technical SEO for Large Websites

  • Audit and optimize site architecture, schema markup, URL structure, sitemap health, pagination, and crawl budget.
  • Improve Core Web Vitals, indexing, mobile performance, and site speed.
  • Collaborate with Product/Tech to fix technical issues and continuously enhance SEO infrastructure.
  • Ensure proper implementation for large content databases (CMS optimization, dynamic pages, tags/categories).

E. Traffic Growth & Performance Optimization

  • Build dashboards for real-time SEO performance tracking (GA4, GSC, Looker Studio).
  • Analyze keyword movement, ranking trends, user behavior, session quality, and revenue impact.
  • Identify opportunities to boost traffic via Discover, News, trending topics, and evergreen clusters.
  • Develop an effective strategy for link building, internal linking, digital PR, and authority-building efforts.

F. Team Leadership & Scaling

  • Build and scale an SEO department: SEO specialists, content SEO analysts, technical SEO, and outreach teams.
  • Develop leveling, KPIs, scorecards, workflows, and training programs for the SEO team.
  • Mentor and coach team members to improve capability, speed, and quality.
  • Foster an SEO-first mindset in collaboration with Tech, Product, and Editorial leaders.

Requirements

Experience & Industry Background

  • 12+ years of SEO experience with at least 7+ years leading SEO teams.
  • Proven experience scaling organic traffic for large content websites, news portals, or publishing platforms.
  • Strong understanding of Google News, Google Discover, E-E-A-T, YMYL, indexing, and content ranking signals.
  • Experience working with multi-site operations or large databases of articles/pages.

Technical & Strategic Skills

  • Expert knowledge of technical SEO for large-scale content websites.
  • Strong command of keyword research, topical authority building, and SERP landscape optimization.
  • Ability to build SEO growth models, forecasting, and strategies for rapid traffic scaling.
  • Proficient with: GA4, GSC, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Looker Studio, CMS-based optimization.

  • Strong communication, decision-making, and cross-functional alignment skills.
  • Strategic, data-driven, and highly adaptable to fast-changing algorithms or market trends.

Nice-to-Have

  • Familiarity with digital advertising (AdSense, programmatic ads) and revenue optimization.
  • Basic technical understanding of HTML/CSS/JS or CMS customization.
