Job Summary

The Senior Sales Manager will lead the development and expansion of the distributor network for the 2-wheeler segment, driving sustainable revenue growth and market penetration. This role is responsible for managing regional sales teams, strengthening distributor capabilities, and executing go-to-market strategies within the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities

1. Distributor Network Development

  • Identify, appoint, and onboard new distributors in targeted regions
  • Evaluate distributor performance and implement improvement plans
  • Build strong, long-term partnerships to ensure alignment with company objectives
  • Develop distributor capability in sales, aftersales, and market coverage

2. Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and market share targets
  • Drive retail and wholesale performance through distributor channels
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer behavior
  • Ensure effective rollout of product launches and promotional campaigns

3. Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a regional sales team
  • Set clear KPIs and performance targets for team members
  • Build a high-performance, accountable sales culture
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, aftersales, and operations teams

4. Business Planning & Performance Management

  • Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and business plans
  • Track and analyze sales performance metrics and take corrective actions
  • Ensure disciplined pipeline management and reporting
  • Optimize territory coverage and resource allocation

5. Stakeholder Management

  • Act as key interface between distributors and internal stakeholders
  • Align with senior management on commercial strategy and execution
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations

Requirements

Experience

  • 8–12+ years of sales experience in the automotive industry
  • Strong experience in 2-wheeler segment (motorcycles, scooters, or related)
  • Proven track record in distributor/dealer network development
  • Prior experience managing sales teams and multi-region operations

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking and execution
  • Excellent leadership and coaching capabilities
  • Data-driven decision-making mindset
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
  • MBA is a plus
