Safety Engineer will be responsible for the development of body structure and/or occupant restraint systems and subsystems using CAE simulation. The engineer will use analysis tools to guide component and system design through optimization to meet FMVSS, IIHS, ECE, GB, and other regulatory requirements and public domain targets. The engineer will also be responsible to develop new analytical and physical verification procedures in an effort to reduce physical testing and improve CAE model and/or test accuracy. The engineer should have a mature understanding of the principles related to vehicle components and occupant kinematics in various vehicle crash test modes.
Requirements
Bachelor or Master from an accredited University such as Mechanical, Aero, Mechanics
3+ year- experience in full vehicle crash-worthiness simulation or performing occupant protection simulations using LS-DYNA/Palm Crash etc. to optimize the design of occupant restraint systems in frontal & side impacts or leading pedestrian protection activities throughout the vehicle development process from styling through validation.
2 to 3 years with hands on experience in applied software skills related to Passive Safety Engineering Development such as Hyperwork, LS-Dyna, Oasys Suite, Diadem, ANSA etc.
Working knowledge of the English language to allow communication in verbal and written form.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others
High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual or difficult and ability to integrate complex systems
Effective teamwork.
Ability to present reports in a clear and coherent manner.
Knowledge Knowledge of engineering theory and application in automotive structures development
Well-versed in FMVSS, IIHS, ECE, GB, Euro-NCAP, A-NCAP and other market requirement
