Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Robotics Manipulation Engineer to design and implement advanced robotic manipulation algorithms for industrial automation systems. This role requires strong technical expertise in motion planning, grasping, and robotic control, along with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams. The successful candidate will contribute to developing production-grade robotics solutions with high reliability and performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, implement, and optimize robotic manipulation algorithms for industrial pick-and-place, assembly, and material-handling applications.
  • Develop motion-planning, trajectory-optimization, and grasp-planning modules capable of operating in real time.
  • Integrate manipulation algorithms with robot controllers, hardware interfaces, and real-time systems.
  • Collaborate with perception engineering teams to incorporate 3D vision data into manipulation pipelines.
  • Conduct experiments, evaluate performance, and tune algorithms for production reliability and robustness.
  • Work with mechanical, electrical, software, and operations teams to ensure seamless end-to-end system integration.
  • Develop and validate simulation workflows for manipulation tasks using platforms such as Gazebo, Isaac Sim, or Mujoco.
  • Prepare technical documentation, system architecture descriptions, and performance assessment reports.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute technical recommendations across the robotics software stack.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in robotic manipulation or real-time robotic systems.
  • Advanced expertise in motion planning, grasp-planning, robot kinematics, dynamics, and control.
  • Strong proficiency in C++ and Python for robotics software development.
  • Hands-on experience with major industrial and collaborative robot manipulators.
  • Experience with ROS2, MoveIt, and modern robotics middleware.
  • Demonstrated experience deploying robotic manipulation systems in production environments.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with bin-picking or other high-complexity manipulation tasks.
  • Knowledge of force/torque sensing, impedance/admittance control, and compliant manipulation.
  • Familiarity with numerical optimization, trajectory optimization, and model-based control methods.
  • Experience using simulation environments such as Isaac Sim, Mujoco, PyBullet, or Gazebo.
  • Understanding of industrial robotic safety standards.
  • Experience with PLCs and industrial communication protocols.
