FDI Rep. Office in Confectionery and Toys in Vietnam is hiring a Senior Quality Engineer (Chemical) | Suppliers in Asia (Travel 60% for business trip).

Report to Quality Manager and Quality Head Asia
Salary: Max 60,000,000 Gross/Month
Key responsibilities:
- Provide chemical subject matter expertise to support new product development.
- Manage chemical-focused suppliers, ensuring all source products comply with Company specifications and the safety requirements of the distribution market
- Supervise laboratory operations, including oversight of testing activities, equipment, and lab technicians to ensure accuracy & efficiency & compliance with established procedures.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate closely with Easton R&D and CASO Engineering to provide input throughout the new product development process to ensure product launch on time without quality compliance issues.
- Support trials, validation testing, analysing results and recommending improvements or corrective actions before product launch.
- Conduct risk assessments related to chemical composition and process risk, to develop a mitigation plan & recommend an effective quality control plan to factories.
- Direct managing key suppliers who produce chemical products to ensure consistent supply, quality, compliance, and performance of sourced products.
- Conduct supplier evaluations, audits, and performance reviews covering quality systems, compliance, and technical capabilities.
- Lead structured problem-solving teams to identify root cause and implement permanent corrective action in response to supplier quality issues.
- Ensure the production test plan is well executed at the assigned supplier.
- Perform a certain level of shipment inspection at the supplier.
- Oversee daily laboratory operations to ensure testing activities are conducted accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with internal procedures. Perform lab test as needed.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated
- Decision-Making Capabilities (List the three most important decisions made while performing the job).
- Determine the compliance of raw materials, work-in-process, and/or finished goods to established component/product specifications.
- Determine the appropriate test methods to confirm that sourced products perform as intended.
- Conclude lab test results to compare with the specification
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- B.S. degree in chemical (must have)
- At least 7 years experience in quality assurance in a manufacturing environment.
- Good communication skills in both verbal & written, able to manage onsite communication with the factory's technical and leadership team.
- Frequent travel within the country & overseas
- Knowledge of statistical methods
- Ability to interpret product specifications and drawings.
- Good written, oral and problem-solving abilities are required.
- Fluency in English
