In this role, you lead and drive Python backend and integration activities, supporting an enterprise-critical ERP landscape. You are responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of backend services, REST APIs, and reliable interfaces to other systems. You collaborate closely with IT Operations, business stakeholders, and other teams to translate requests into scalable solutions, and you improve performance and stability of processes and integrations. You coach and support local colleagues, contribute to technical standards, and ensure production readiness through disciplined quality and operational practices.
Your responsibilities
- Customize and extend an enterprise-critical ERP to support business and operational needs
- Optimize performance of backend processes and integration interfaces (latency, throughput, stability)
- Understand IT services business processes (delivery, support, finance/controlling basics, SLA-driven operations) and translate them into technical solutions
- Support IT operations and end users by analyzing requests, proposing solutions, implementing fixes/enhancements, and deploying them safely
- Design and deliver Python backend services and REST APIs with clear architecture, clean code, and long-term maintainability
- Build and maintain integrations with internal/external systems using standard patterns: webhooks, polling, batch import/export, event-driven messaging
- Ensure integration robustness: idempotency, retries/backoff, deduplication, error handling, traceability/auditability
- Drive engineering quality through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD readiness, and technical documentation (API specs, runbooks)
- Support production operations with strong observability (logs/metrics/traces) and disciplined incident handling and root-cause practices
- Mentor team members and contribute to technical standards, best practices, and predictable delivery
Your qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years in software engineering with strong, hands-on Python backend experience in production environments
- Proven track record delivering integration-heavy systems and API-based architectures
- Comfortable collaborating across teams and communicating technical decisions clearly in English
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Admin-level experience with Linux systems, including system administration, service management, troubleshooting, automation, and performance tuning in production environments
