The Opportunity
Our valued client is a global leader in distributing industrial automation, mobile machinery, and renewable energy products.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead plant-level customization of electric motors and industrial gearboxes (non-critical changes)
- Analyze technical requirements and define product configurations based on market/customer needs
- Design local variants and minor modifications
- Prepare and release drawings, CAD models, BOMs, and technical documents per HQ standards
- Support certification activities for plant products
- Ensure compliance with international standards and regulations (e.g. EU directives)
- Contribute to cost analysis and product optimization
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through design or process improvements
- Work with Purchasing, Operations, and HQ R&D to ensure competitiveness and manufacturability
- Provide technical support to regional teams during customer discussions
- Support customer and certification audits related to product engineering and documentation
Key Requirements
- 8–10+ years of experience in electric motors or industrial gearboxes (application analysis & design)
- Strong background in product development and engineering change management (ECR/ECN)
- Experience with structured R&D processes and PLM tools (CAD, BOM, technical documentation, release)
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing environments, working with production, quality, and engineering teams
- Exposure to global R&D organizations and cross-functional collaboration
- Ability to support customer discussions, feasibility studies, and product customization
