Job Description

ABOUT GEEK UP

GEEK Up is a Trusted Product Partner collaborating with Digital Innovators to craft pioneering digital solutions. We specialize in end-to-end product development, from strategic consulting to building dedicated product teams, always focusing on creating impactful products. Our core belief is in the power of the Product Mindset and Agile adaptation within a Co-Creation Partnership Model.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer with strong UX depth to own UX direction across product areas and complex workflows - someone who does not just deliver one familiar case well, but sustains a consistent quality bar across many output types and many contexts.

You will work in environments with real constraints: multi-role users, operation logic, policy and legal requirements, technical limitations, and timeline pressure. Your job is to structure the problem space, make recommendations with clear rationale, and help the team make better decisions on complex product challenges.

This is a full-flow role. You own the UX direction and carry it through to hi-fidelity execution. The evaluation bar centers on UX, but we need you to bring solutions all the way to a build-ready state.

Why Join Us

  • Full-Flow Ownership: Lead the design journey from ambiguous problem spaces to polished, validated solutions.
  • Strategic Influence: Work as a key partner to Business Owners and decision-makers who shape the product roadmap.
  • High-Complexity Challenges: Tackle products with intricate business logic and multi-user workflows that require high-level structural thinking.
  • Evidence-Based Culture: Work in an environment that values deep research-driven design and rationalized solution framing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

UX Research & Discovery

  • Owned Research Approach: Lead research across a range of output types - discovery notes, interview synthesis, usability findings, benchmarks, and decision recommendations.
  • Evidence to Decision: Define objectives, sources, methods, and synthesis so that insights translate into decisions repeatedly, not case by case.
  • Intellectual Honesty: Surface limitations in sample, bias, method-fit, or thin data, and proactively request review or support where confidence is low.

Ideation & Solution Framing

  • Problem Structuring: Break the problem space into clear parts - user problem, business goal, operation dependency, technical constraint, risk, assumption, and the decisions that need to be made.
  • Option Comparison: Evaluate multiple solution directions and recommend with explicit rationale: which option, why, what the impact and risk are, and what still needs validation.
  • Rationale Durability: Hold and adapt that rationale as stakeholders or context shift.

UX Design & Direction

  • Direction Ownership: Own UX direction across sitemaps/app maps, workflows, wireframe systems, prototypes, interaction models, and validation plans.
  • Systems Thinking: Handle system flow, operation logic, and technical constraints across different contexts, with visible learning and iteration beyond initial delivery.
  • Alignment Creation: Identify ambiguity, definition gaps, and stakeholder conflicts, then create alignment through reasoning, artifacts, prototypes, or decision frameworks.

UI Execution & Delivery

  • Hi-Fidelity Delivery: Produce consistent hi-fi UI across multiple screens and states within scope, using design systems and components correctly.
  • Handoff Quality: Deliver clean, well-detailed output that requires few clarification rounds; flag risk and request review on complex responsive or state behavior.
  • Intent Preservation: Ensure UX intent survives the transition into UI, handoff, and build.

Collaboration & Team Impact

  • Cross-Functional Synergy: Partner closely with PM/BA/PA/Engineers and UI Designers throughout the delivery cycle so direction is understood correctly and is buildable.
  • Effective Communication: Present research outcomes and strategic directions directly to Business Owners and decision-making stakeholders.
  • Peer Review: Review other designers UX work at the artifact and rationale level, helping the team catch gaps in flow, assumptions, edge cases, or decision logic.

REQUIREMENTS

Must Have:

  • Proven Direction Ownership: You have owned UX direction end-to-end on at least 2-3 complex products or workflows across different domains - not execution against already-defined requirements.
  • Repeatable Quality Bar: Evidence of consistent quality across multiple outputs or iteration cycles: a stable way of working that protects UX logic, buildability, and product value. Exposure to many domains alone is not the bar.
  • Analytical Thinking: Exceptional ability to structure messy problem spaces using both qualitative and quantitative evidence.
  • Complex Problem Solving: Solid experience developing and evaluating multiple solution directions for high-complexity or multi-user systems.
  • Hi-Fidelity Craft: Ability to deliver UI that meets visual standards, with command of design systems and control over states and edge cases.
  • Communication & Facilitation: Excellent skills in presenting to stakeholders and handling ambiguity in business requirements with a logical, evidence-based approach.
  • Ownership: A reliable professional capable of taking full ownership of the product design cycle with high autonomy.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working in product design consulting or agency environments.
  • Familiarity with enterprise platforms, SaaS, or systems with heavy business logic.
  • A portfolio that highlights the transition from deep research insights to final, polished design solutions.
